Ever Skip Meals?

If I just don't have time to get something or make something, I found that a meal bar works. The South Beach Living meal bars are good and keep me feeling full longer since they are high in protein. You ever find your self guilty of skipping meals?

PoohsBigSister January 30th, 2009 11:04 AM

I don't like the taste of those. Skipping meals is a habit that I had to break. And, I'm glad I did. Now, if I know I'm going to be out and about, I make sure I have some kind of snack - an apple, a banana, a baggie of celery sticks or broccoli crowns, or even a little package of almonds. And, I make sure and plan time to eat. It was a hard habit to break, but it really made a difference in my weight loss.

I used to eat the Zone bars as they have a lot of protein too, but now, I find that if I just plan, I can get better nutrition for the same calories. :)

Are you dieting? If so, what "diet"? I'm doing weight watchers. :)

Nimue January 31st, 2009 06:16 AM

Sometimes I eat breakfast at ten o clock at night. Send help plz.

rjsfeminist January 31st, 2009 06:10 PM

Hmmm...not a problem if your "day" is, say, from 8:00 p.m. until 10 a.m. I trust you eat during the day, Nimue?

PoohsBigSister February 1st, 2009 12:12 PM

LOL... True RJ! :)

I find that if I eat late at night (since I have a traditional day of up at 5:30 am and bed by 9:30 or 10pm), i get heartburn, so it's a huge deterrent for me!

If you find yourself skipping breakfast - no matter what time you eat it (it's the first meal of your day), I'd say to look at how you feel and when you are actually hungry. If you are trying to lose weight, starving yourself (skipping meals) isn't the way to do it, your body will shut down and start saving the fat because it thinks it needs to.

:)

 We are supposed to eat

This is the first I have heard of this! LOL..

No really.. Was always told to eat 3 small meals a day and a light snack in-between. Never really worked for me though :(
Was also told if you drink a glass of water a half hour before eating, you will fill up faster with less food.. ;)

PoohsBigSister February 5th, 2009 05:56 PM

both work Daccie!! and LOL!! yes...supposed to eat!!! just not supposed to eat ALOT,and... apparently...not OREOS for EVERY MEAL darn it!! sigh. :)

HUGS! :)

BlueSkyBlue February 10th, 2009 11:31 PM

the great thing about the south beach meal bars is they dont contain high fructose corn syrup. i started eating them after i had my son as a way to help me hold off from eating unhealthy snacks. now, they are a regular snack in my day!

Tammy February 11th, 2009 04:57 AM

I don't exactly skip meals, but I don't eat on a normal schedule either.

I like the Power Bar peanut butter crisp and the Balance Bar original peanut butter bar, but hardly ever any of the other brands or varieties. I have this peanut butter addiction and those two varieties are the only ones that actually taste like real peanut butter.

PoohsBigSister February 12th, 2009 05:07 PM

Tammy!! You be careful with those peanut butter flavored bars right now!! sheez!! :)

DACDjr February 12th, 2009 08:28 PM

It is the mighty Tammy... Don't see much of her lately :(

I agree with the PB, never know..

I like to munch on carrots.. Bad habit lol.. But worked well when quit smoking ;)

IRISH_EYES_99 February 12th, 2009 08:31 PM

Yes ((((((( Tammy ))))))))) do be careful. I think that they should have made the owner of that peanut company eat some of the tainted peanut butter. Instead of allowing him to plead the 5th. He should have eating 1/5 of the jar. :D Just my humble opinion.

(((((( PBS, DACDjr, & all ))))))))

Tammy February 13th, 2009 06:13 AM

Not to worry! None of my peanut butter fixes were on the recall lists. Besides, it'll take more than a salmonella and rat turds to rub me out. :cackle:

IRISH_EYES_99 February 13th, 2009 10:37 AM

 I can picture Tammy telling them all. "Get out of my way don't make me step on you. Samonella be dammed".

((((((((( Tammy & all )))))))))))))

PoohsBigSister February 13th, 2009 12:01 PM

GIGGLE!! :) Ya'll are crazy sometimes... :D

WillowWOW February 16th, 2009 10:15 PM

Yeppers ya'll are a riot. No I dont skip meals. I plan and do the best I can. I am not on a "Diet" I am on a change of lifestyle. Hence relearning to eat three meals and three snacks a day was challenging but I did it. Its a matter of choice and planning. Plus you wont be hungry all the time and eating healthier has better effects than anything else. Plus do you work out or exercise at all? Just curious
Have a great day!:)

PoohsBigSister February 19th, 2009 02:31 PM

ewwwwwwwwwwww exercise?!?!?!?! sigh. Yes, I walk... but I have been neglecting it as of late, and I can tell, in my mood, in my energy level, and in the way my clothes are fitting! greif! :)

Wolf_angel April 8th, 2009 07:35 PM

Ok questoin how do you get tofu eggs? I know that you would use the fake plastic eggs and spoon tofu in them. Hence how can the tofu eggs be happy? LOL Gotcha! :) By the way I am down to 164.6 :) and in size 11 jeans! :)
Although being diabetic is a new twist in the works I am still doing it! :)
Happy Easter!

JustADream21 May 12th, 2009 11:16 AM

yeah I do but its never because I want to though...its because Im in a hurry, running around...

Sassysam January 7th, 2011 05:07 PM

Skipping meals is the direct path to yo yo dieting which never works.

Wolf_angel January 9th, 2011 12:05 PM

I agree with SassySam! If you know you will get busy then stick a special K bar or granola in your purse or jacket. Then you will have something to tide you over and help you keep on track where you arent skipping meals! Hope this helps!

rachel72 August 8th, 2012 01:58 AM

I mostly skip my lunch because i takes heavy breakfast which makes me full stomach rest of the day, then i eats dinner.I never ever skip my breakfast meal.

Wolf_angel August 8th, 2012 01:37 PM

Skipping meals is a big No No! If your body is a car, it cant run unless you fuel up. You could go light on the lunch but eat something. This I know to be true.
Btw I was back up to 195 due to the job driving trucks and no exercise as well as being sick. But now bringing it back down slowly.
Hugs
