You really have to interpret dreams within the context of your own life and experience, rather than stock symbolism.
Once I read about how you should try retelling your dreams from the viewpoint of something else in your dream. One woman was dreaming of a pot boiling over on her stove. From the point of view of the pot, she said, "I am boiling over and out of control." It can be interesting. I dreamed the other night that I met Bob Denver (Gilligan) at the mall. We sat down and talked...he was a really calm, peaceful guy, almost monk-like, and very kind. He gave me a copy of his book about what it was like to be Gilligan. It had a zen theme...LOL

That's weird LiamFan. I dreamed that Bob Dylan was watching Neil Diamond sing Lay Lady Lay and I kept telling Bob to not let Neil sing his song like that it wasn't right but they both acted like they couldn't hear me.

Well, I just woke up from a dream where I was in a test where I had to climb out of a room and the only thing we had to climb on was each other. My dad was there telling me that I had to help some people climb out and then had to climb up others. They were putting pieces of cardboard on their shoulders to protect them. I told him I couldn't climb up other people and he said then you'll be in this room for a long time alone. I told him since we had to climb on each other then someone was going to be left in the room. My sister Polly was there and she'd been in a wheel chair and was on crutches now and I knew she'd never be able to climb out. So, I told her to go on out the door.
From the room I ended up on a fishing boat. We were looking for some kind of bad guys. We came across a boat that was seemingly abandoned. There were lines, two of them, leading into the water and I picked them up. The lines led under out boat and as I continued to rais them they were going to get tangled in the prop. I was afraid that if someone didn't turn off the engine we would damage the prop. I could see the front end of a boat coming to surface...and someone said there was a huge shark. |

Ok BirdWOW here is one for you .....I dreamed that our cat Melba (who died this past winter) came home and jumped up on the bed and her paw was torn off, the bone and stuff was showing and it was bloody, she dropped the paw on the bed in front of us and was purring loudly. I wanted to take her to the vet but my husband said no can't you hear her purring she will be fine. I could not understand why he didnt want her to go to the vet. I also didn't know why she was purring. I kept thinking she must be in shock and cats may purr while in shock.

I'm happy to see all of the flying dreams.
Those are my favorite dreams. I don't necessarily need a commode, I just use my arms and glide. One recurring dream I have is of a good friend of mine that died about 10 years ago. At first, in the dream she appeared and I said to her "I knew you weren't dead" and I would stand in disbelief. Upon awakening, I would be very upset. Now when I have the dream it is as if she is here visiting me and I hug her and can feel her hair touch my palm as I wrap my arms around her (the last time I saw her, in real life I had hugged her at the airport) We laugh and have fun. When I awake, I am very happy, but at the same time acutely sad. I have not lost many (thank God) close persons in my life and was wondering if this is a common thing.

I hardly ever dream about dead people, but when I do they are always angry. Usually it is my grandfather, and no matter what I do he refuses to acknowledge me.

That's the weird thing. We were extremely close. Maybe it means that I wish he was still here. He and my mother died around the same time. A few years later I had a dream they were packing their clothes. When I ran after my mother she levitated and flew out the window. I was going to run after her but I saw my grandfather walking ahead of me and knew she would be okay. I haven't dreamed of her since, but everyonce in awhile he pops up. I've always thought that was very odd.
LOL But then again in -my- head what did I expect to find?

Hope it comes true, Terri!
Okay, I posted this dream on Sunday, in my WOW folder, but here it is for those of you inclined to interpret... Rick and Drew and I were driving along, in the Third Ward (for those who don't know Milwaukee, it's an area downtown where there are a lot of warehouses and lofts and fruit and vegetable markets). There was a young guy on a scooter (like a Vespa, not one of those foot scooters...LOL) next to us who kept yelling things. Eventually we came to a red light and Rick rolled down the window and yelled something back. Then, we turned right to get away from him. We went one block, then turned left, then left again to get back on the main road. The guy on the scooter was coming toward us, so we pulled over. Next to us were two guys who were on break from a nearby factory. I looked at the scooter guy and yelled, "What the hell is wrong with you?" The scooter guy was delivering these guys magazines to read on their break...he said to one of the guys, in this really slow voice, 'didn't you want one about cars?' or something like that. I realized he had some kind of developmental problem, and then felt bad for yelling at him. Somehow we ended up in this house where the scooter guy lived. It was a huge house with a ton of rooms, and people everywhere. Scooter guy disappeared and we started walking around the house and listening in on different conversations. Gail was with us all of a sudden (I love when people just pop in unannounced in my dreams ;-) and Drew said he was hungry. Someone came over with a little pizza kit and told him he could make himself a pizza. Drew was thrilled, and I was a little bothered by how excited he was and how impressed he was with these people because I didn't trust them. Gail and I commented on how perfect everything was, until we opened the broiler and there was a dirty pan from macaroni and cheese in there. Gail said, "Oh, they're not that perfect." As we made our way around the house, everything seemed to be staged to impress us. Nobody seemed unhappy, but there was a weird undercurrent, like it was a cult of some kind. Groups of three or four guys here and there were having discussions about how badly women were treated in society, and how they should revolt against the patriarchy. I knew it was staged, though. Out in the yard, these two little Japanese girls were playing with this contraption that was like a slingshot connected to a horizontal bar, and they were shooting things high into the sky. Drew was intrigued. Someone took Drew into a little candy store that was set up in the house, and let him pick whatever he wanted. He came over to me with M&Ms and a little set of Pokemon punch-out finger-puppets. I was mad because I knew that they were just coming up with things that Drew would love, and then wouldn't want to leave. In the meantime, Rick had disappeared and we couldn't leave until we found him. Scooter guy had gone to sleep in a room and I figured while he was asleep, we could sneak out. (to be continued next post)

Part Two ...
At some point in the dream, Rick's mom showed up with a big dish of something for dinner, and she was wearing a long blue evening gown. All the other women were commenting on how beautiful she looked, but I thought it was inappropriate dress for just coming for a visit. People were all lining up along opposite sides of the table, and I suddenly recognized a woman I used to work with a few years back. She came over and gave me a big hug and started whispering in my ear how happy she was here and how she wasn't going to leave. "Why would you want to?" she said as she backed away from me. I turned to Gail and said, "I used to work with Tani for years." Gail seemed relieved, but then I explained that the woman was not herself (she was 81 in the dream...not sure if that's important). We decided we were going to look for Rick and leave. So I went from room to room trying to find where he had laid down. In one room, I thought I had found him, and I was talking to this guy, trying to wake him up. He sat up, facing away from me, and it sort of looked like Rick, but not quite. He stood up and started walking down the hall, and I was following him. I said, "Are you Rick? Because I don't want to be following a stranger..." The guy turned around, and it wasn't Rick, and he said, "So, am I a stranger?" He said he would take me to where Rick was. We kept walking up and down these halls, up staircases...eventually, I just figured I would wake up. Which I did, and Rick was sleeping and snoring, and I was relieved to hear it! LOL THE END
