On Friday McCain spoke up a little. He had to state that Obama is a decent man and there is nothing to fear from an Obama presidency. Interesting, that's not what they had been implying before. John Kerry said the McPalin team should be disqualified for hate mongering. The good news about this is that it has hit the mainstream media and the word got out to the people. There is nothing we can do to change that small group of haters, but McCain CAN speak up and prevent a Frankenstein "let's kill the monster" scenario.
It is a VERY scary time and months ago Obama was the first democratic candidate during the primaries to need secret service. Hopefully we've learned a lot from history and he's well protected. If anything happens, there is blood on both McCain's and Palin's hands. I watched some interviews with people from Palin's hometown and those people are really racist. It was like the town that time forgot. William Bennett is a neo conservative right wing, anti Obama a&&hole. He's the one who wrote "The Book of Virtues" and then was found to have lost millions of dollars on a gambling habit. He's know as a "conservative MISinformer." He's the one that said aborting every black baby in this country would reduce the crime rate. Google him. He's a nightmare. |

Oh, and I really don't think we have to walk around and continually thank McCain for his military service. He sat and said nothing when his former good friend John Kerry was being swiftboated. John Kerry was truly a war time hero. His three purple hearts prove that he continued to go back time and time again. He had every right to speak out againt the war once he returned home to civilian status.
A true hero would have spoken up and defended one of his best buddies. McCain sat and said nothing, even though he allegedly voted for John Kerry in '04. Additionally, had McCain's father not been an admiral, McCain would have washed out. He crashed 4 or 5 planes before he ever flew his fateful mission which resulted in his POW status. My father was a pilot and navigator during WWII. He didn't crash any planes. He figured that was the right thing to do. Had McCain not been a POW, his military career would have earned him no bragging rights. I'm really surprised that the media didn't pick up on one of McCain's statement at the last debate. "My friends, I know how to win a war." HUH? We didn't win that war! What the hell is he talking about? Three weeks from tomorrow. I'm nervous as hell. |

Thank you everyone for your responses. My husband does not agree with me. However, being a survivor I am sensitive to the slightest hint of danger.

Melynn my friend,
Thank you for that reminder. He should have stepped forward for John Kerry. Hate mongers they are more scary than anyone or anything. They spew fear along with the hatred. No Mc B doesn't have a clue. What war did he win???? Good question???? Don't think we'll find an ans. I'm with you on the nervousness. Wish the numbers were futher apart. Wish we could really wake up the undecided voters. They need to decide. Need to reach them. Hopefully they will look at the whole picture and decide in the favor of who should be in office... Barack Obama & Joe Biden ((((((((( Melynn, KraftyKid, WOW)))))))))))

I was never a big fan of Sarah Silverman, but as a jewish woman, I'm a fan of her great schlep! For those who haven't seen it, http://thegreatschlep.com/site/default.html
While funny, it's also true. Any of you jewish grandkids with grandparents in Florida, get on a plane, train, or automobile ASAP and talk to your grandparents about voting for Obama. |

Irish, I hope my post didn't come off as anti-Irish *g* and I apologize if it did. I was just speaking up and letting my feelings be known. It was nothing against you at all! I just think McCain is another warmonger, and I'm tired of him resting on his service laurels. These days in our democratic country, we run the risk of being branded unpatriotic if we dare to question. Can you imagine singing "bomb, bomb Iran" as though there aren't people who live there but simply a government we oppose? And no matter what he says, he did NOT sing it in jest to a person after his rally. He sang it to the entire rally and it went over so well, at his next rally the music played was the Beach Boys, "Barbara Ann!" I wish he would stop his freaking lying. I have zero respect for that man.
The polls say Obama is up 10 points. I remember reading, a few months ago, that where we are on October 15th (last debate) is where we'll be when it's over. So, let's see what happens. |
