Not that this is my New Year's resolution, or anything (calling it that is a quick ticket to failure, for me!)... but I have a lot of weight to lose. It's interfering with my life.
I've decided to try the Strong Women Stay Young program, by Miriam Nelson. Simple weight training 3 days a week, easing into aerobics, and a sensible food plan (with multiple levels). So far today: 1 dairy (of 3) 2 protein (of 6) 3 grains (of 8 - I may not make it today) 2 fruit (of 4) 2 veg (of 5) 2 extras (of 8) 7 glasses of water I've also set up a long-term reward for losing all I want to lose - I get to buy a motorcycle!

AntiYeast
Round 2 for me on the Anti yeast low sugar diet again. It sucks in a big way, but without the diet I struggle each day with fatigue, pain, bloating, just to name a few. <sigh> May anyone who has a special diet get in touch with thier inner spirit to find the strength to make it work.

Oh Latte, good luck on your diet, sounds awful. I'm starting a "diet" tomorrow for the six millionth time, but this time I have set achievable weight loss and time goals. Fingers crossed....pretty dertermined this time. Tonight however...I'm having the last supper of fish and chips... Eat drink and be merry, for tomorrow we diet..
Good luck{{{{{{{{Latte}}}}}}}

I'm not losing much weight on the scale, but I'm getting stronger and more flexible (I can almost grab my foot to do a quad stretch now), and my clothes are starting to fit better. I never got around to taking my measurements before I started this program and now I wish I had so I could put numbers on the results. It would make it more real. Sounds weird, but I can tell I'm getting slimmer because my pants are getting longer...

That's great Kathe, no it doesn't sound weird about pants getting longer cause as I was putting on weight my pants were getting shorter, good on you, keep up the good work.

WoooHoooo Kathe! Way to go!
I'm not setting any goals, talking plans or making commitments but I'm <i>thinking</i> of losing weight...again.

I for one do not believe in scales I think they are put on earth to make us depressed and there are too many other things that do that well enough, I know you are beautiful irish, I do not care what the scale says. I am glad you are getting a healthy diet and I am now having to battle the bulge too. and it totally blows. I wanna get a dog so I have a reason to go walking and I think in a year or two I will have my hubby convinced to get one...good luck irish.

Thanks appletreewoman, I appreciate the sentiments. To bad we don't live near each other so we could go walking together. If I had a dog I would prob be kissing the sidewalk more. rofl
Today when we went to the restaurant instead of a dinner portion, had the lunch portion. Which was a bit smaller. Got offered dessert and didn't take it. Kept thinking if I can be busy for 15min the craving will leave. It did. whewww One day at a time! Can not expect a miracle weight loss. Will work for the weight loss. CAN DO THIS. YES I CAN !!!!!

Irish, I wish ya the best on the weight loss. I know you can do it and stick with it. I use to do a lot of walking, and when the weather did not permit it, I would go to the mall or to the grocery store. Lol, I use to walk around the grocery store checking out prices and looking deals. Then I would go and get a buggy and start my shopping. Not only did I get a deal but I was out of the harsh weather, got great savings, and found a few deals not even on the weekly paper.

((((( all )))))))
Well today is day 4 and I'm still here funny drinking juice in place of soda.. am feeling better.Have not stepped on a scale yet, walking more not what I used to do, but more than I have been doing recently that is a plus. Eating more fruits and vegetables actually I do feel better. Did my hair a little different, threw on a little makeup.(it's been ages) Writing in here and not telling anyone at work what I am doing. This way they won't keep questioning me. I want to thank ((( Christyrose))) for her encouragement, and for some tips she has given me. I do appreciate it. Going to my nephew's wedding tomorrow night. Going to wear an outfit that makes me appear less bulky and more slender that way I can feel better about me too. Maybe my sister won't be so fast to put me down. OH well love my nephew and his bride I go for them.
