You would think that being from a large family someone would have one but we don't. lol I would love to have one! I hear there is nothing as sinful as mac-n-cheese from scratch! If you have any other recipes youwould like to share share away! I love trying new things!

macaroni and cheese?

Hey, I can do this! I made it last night. My son loves it. This is one of those dishes that people like certain ways though. I like mine kinda fluffy and baked in the oven. My sister likes hers really creamy. My mom likes hers with mushrooms in it. Anyway, I don't like their's I like mine. You are welcome to use it.

Tupi's Macaroni and Cheese

1/2 pound macaroni (I like small shells, but small elbow is fine)
1 t salt (optional)

Bring water and salt to a rolling boil; add macaroni. Put lid on pot and turn off heat. In 5 minutes or so, stir to keep from lumping together. You want the macaroni to be al dente...firm, but not chewy.

Sauce
3 Tablespoons butter or margerine
3 Tablespoons flour
1 teaspoon salt
1/8 to 1/4 teaspoon red pepper (ground not flakes)
1 and 1/4 cup milk
1 and 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese

Melt butter in small saucepan over medium heat. Sprinkle in flour stirring with a wire whisk or fork to avoid any flour lumps. Add salt, and cook until flour and butter pull together into a roux. Slowly add milk stirring constantly. Let the mixture cook over medium heat stirring to avoid scorching. When it thickens add the cheese, and stir until it melts. Add the red pepper last, and taste to correct seasonings. Pour the melted cheese sauce over cooked macaroni in an 8 by 8 inch buttered pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes until top is golden brown.

super simple

I have a house full of company, and no room for all to sit at the table. Therefore we are opting for buffet including desert. My favorite buffet dessert is so simple.

Wash, clean, and hull a huge basket of strawberries. Arange the whole berries in a pretty dish or a plastic lined basket. Have a bowl of light brown sugar (no lumps for goodness sakes!) and a bowl of sour cream sitting with the berries. To serve, put a large spoon of sour cream and a large spoon of brown sugar on a small dessert plate. Add to the plate 4 strawberries. Then you dip strawberry in sour cream and then brown sugar and pop in your mouth! YUMMY!

Thumbs up

HI my loverly friend-WOWS.....you know how much I love cooking chat, and I am sure I am not the only roomie wanting to lose a little weight. I came across this recipe, and although it is unusual, it is really good!!!

DIET COKE CHICKEN

4 chicken breasts
1 cup ketchup
20 oz. diet coke

Fry chicken in pan til 1/2 way cooked....add ketchup and diet coke, cook til chicken is done. Remove chicken and continue to cook to thicken sauce. Sounds gross, but make a really nice sweet BBQ sauce, nice over rice.
