Update on health
To all my friends: I wanted to keep you updated. After all the doctor app. last week I now have more info. I tested positive for HPV, I have had it for along time, they can tell this because of the stage the cells are in. They did find cancerous cells on my cervix. They did 2 biopsy's and a scrap on my cervix, once the results come back they will do one of two things. Either freeze off the bad cells or do a LEEP. The LEEP is where they cut off some of the cervix to get rid of the bad cells.
My app. with the oncologist went well, she determined from the blood tests I have chronic leukemia, they are waiting for about 15 other tests to come back on my blood. I will do 6 weeks of daily radiation, after that they will redo the blood tests. She said I don't have lymphoma which is a good thing. The radiation could take care of the cancerous cells on my cervix. My oncologist will speak to my obgyn to do a treatment plan and then I will know when I go back in 2 weeks. I am still scared but I know I will get thru this. My foster parents are coming into town once I start the radiation to help out with the kids. Thank you all for your prayers and your kind words of encouragement. I know my mom is with me and is putting her hand on my shoulder. She will be with me always. Thank you all once again. Email me if you want and we can talk more. |

Awwww I am sorry to hear you are ill, JoJo. I will be thinking of you and you are in my prayers. Radiation can be hard and make you sick, so just be careful, and take it easy. Let me know if you need someone to talk to. Huggggssss to you and your family.

(((JoJo))) I know if I were in your shoes, I'd be a total wreck. You're in my prayers...or, if you're not the "prayer" type, then consider it good vibes. Keep us posted, okay?

Thanks, I am going this friday at 11 am for the surgery. He (my doc) says he will be taking about half of my cervix. To make sure to get all the bad cells. After that it is just a waiting game to see if it re appears. I am real upset I will not be able to have more kids though. I really was not finished I wanted a boy. I am dealing with it one day at a time. I go to the oncologist on Thursday, I don't know how much more bad news I can take. I went for my sleep study last week. Now I have to go back for another one, to get my cpap. I know now I have sleep apnea. Just so much going on in my life, but somehow I am making it day to day but making it. I have my kids and my partner, and a couple of close family members to help me thru this. I said I prayer the other night asking God to ease up. They say he never gives you more than you can handle, but I feel I am at my limit. Thanks again for your support and I will keep you updated.

JoJo I know one thing that is going to make you feel better and that is the CPAP machine. Just think a full nights rest, no snoring, no getting up exhausted in the a.m. So many people do not know they have a sleeping disorder. My son-in-law got help when he fell asleep at the wheel on the freeway. Thank goodness my daughter was with him and able to wake him up. He no longer drives at night.

yes I am looking forward to that good nights sleep. Just some comfort in this time in my life. Just can't believe we did not check for this sooner, instead of all the meds they put me on. They thought it had to do with my schizoaffective/bipolar. So I was taking 200mg trazodone, 4mg of lorazepam and upto 300 mg of benedryl. And still no sleep. So now I now I no its fibromyalgia and sleep apnea. I am glad your son was alright. That is a scary thing to go thru. You take care and thanks

Ok update went to oncologist today and NO Leukemia. The rest of the tests came back and they all were normal. I am in the clear. They still don't know why my white count is so high, but they will monitor me and we will see what happens. High white count usually means infection, but they can't find any. So I am so happy and thankful. Now I just have to get thru the surgery tommorow and I will be alright. I made dinner and stuff tonight for tommorow, so all the kids have to do is warm it up. They have been so good and helpfull in all this. I am so proud of them. They may be 12 and 8 but they handled all this like grown women. I look at them and think dang I am doing an awesome job of being a mom and teaching them right. I am proud of myself for holding it together this last year. Hugggs to everyone!!!!!!!!!!

Are you sure your oncologist knows what she is doing? About 2 weeks ago she said you HAD leukemia. And now you don't.. Somewhere along the line something is not right.. We all hope that you are fine ect.. But come on, if you read this from someone would you not get the same idea?
Anyway... I can't see them taking half of your cervix.. During a LEEP procedure, a wire loop electrode with an electrical current is used to remove abnormal tissue from the cervix. Asked my OB today.. lol Like burning off a wart, correct? Studies show 95% of women who have had a LEEP done have went on to have healthy babies. If I were you, since this oncologist seems to be a tad confused, I would get a second opinion. But that is just my feelings.. Not beeing your sister and all why would you listen to me? You need to call me or e-mail me, I will be having Joshua in about a week. Got the news today Love ya Huggers to everyone..

FYI I had cone biopsy done. which is done with a Leep instrument. It depends on how much of the cervix they take, that determines your risk of having a preterm baby or a misscarriage.

Personally I am sorry you have had to go thru any of this JoJo. I am very disappointed about how people are treating you on this site. I was under the impression this was a positive web site for women to get together and have fun, share laughs and have a shoulder to lean on if needed. So far all I have seen is cruel intentions. I have had a cone biopsy done 2 of them to be exact, and yes they use the same tool as with a Leep. I too was told I could not successfully carry a child to full term. I believe you are a strong woman and Kudos to you for standing up for your self. I am here if you need someone ok. Hugs to you and take care. Maybe I need to rethink being apart of this website.

I removed several posts from this thread because they contained blatent personal attacks or participated in that exchange in some way. The "rule" in WOW has always been attack issues, not people. That didn't change with the new site design.
If you have issues with someone and don't want to see/read their posts, you can put them on your ignore list. Here's a direct link to the ignore list in your UserCP: http://wowwomen.com/boards/profile.php?do=ignorelist Type in or copy/paste the exact username of the person and click the "okay" button. |

Craftygirl, one of the neatest things about this website is the fact that we can say pretty much anything we want as long as we don't attack each other. I think some folks tend to forget those guidelines. You will very rarely see admin delete a post or thread unless the content consists of attacks on a person in the thread/posts. I can't say that for other forums I visit or read.
Personally, I think if people have a dispute with each other, they need to take it to the telephone, email, or whatever other venue they have access to and not subject others to their vendettas. |
