The L Word
Is anyone else watching this season and feel its really lame and dumb this year?
I'm really disappointed it the first two years on it was really good now its like any other program except for its about women and women who love women. My favorite character Shane is now like a total idiot this year. She was so hip and strong before - a real smartmouth/hardass kinda gal, but a softie. I guess even these writers couldnt find anything new to write about after 5 seasons.

Tiffin you are telling me! I watched season 5 and was really disappointed in everything they have going on.
I liked that ALice stood by Tasha torugh her court martial but now that it is over she is ready to move on to some one else! What are the producers trying to say? Are lesbians only strong enough to weather it through a storm and once the storm is over they go looking for new adventure? I am not even going to talk about Shane. She had it good but then let her jeans control her as she often does! She did try to treat Phylis's daughter right but when confronted by Phylis she chose to run off rather than try to proove Phylis wrong. Tina and Bett are so messed up! They break up and get new partners and then go back to each other again. How stupid is that? I have yet to see a lesbian couple in real life that actually operates that way. But I am looking forward to Season 6 LOL

Is it me or do the producers really think if they give Shane a bad haircut( each one worse than the last season ) that we will buy that Shane is butch? To some degree there is probably a "Shane" in almost every lesbian circle but not as wishy-washy as Shane is.
Max/Miora was kinda butch but then that was messed up with Moira becoming Max. I thought the writers done an ok job of Moira turning into Max and how it might affect everyone in his/her life but what I didn't understand was why Max ended up getting with a gay male after not having the bottom surgery done. I would have assumed that Max still would have been attracted to women afterr transitioning to male ( even if he didn't get the bottom surgery done). I'm not even going to try to decipher the sexuality of Max or the gay male in this instance.. tooo complicated LOL.

Yes last season was frustrating enough to throw something at the TV, but I think they are showing you that each individual on this show has a weakness that at times takes over their lives.
I agree, the first few episodes seemed like the writers were lost. I find it interesting that Shane was Ok so long as she just played the field, but the instant she started to get serious and could not go through with it she annoyed her audience. Hello Folks, she's human.... As for Max being with a male, I would guess Max needed to explore to understand what it was Max really wanted. Something most of us are too afraid to do. Too bad this 2009 season is the last.... |

Ok I missed the teaser on Thursday where Jenny gets killed...I hope it plays again so I can see it...I can't believe I forgot it was Thursday and watch a some other show grrrrr.
Why do producers do things like this? Teasers and if you miss them then the rest of the season is wasted on WHO and WHY. Its soooo 80's and reminds me of 'who shot JR in Dallas' so totally dumb LOL! Flygal for me Max was an important part of the last couple of seasons, very human aspect of life. And I agree about the fear of doing what we really want lots of folks just barely scratch the surface of that. 5/6 years seems to be the norm now for any show on HBO, SHOWTIME which is good because it leaves folks wanting more and ends while the show is its prime!
