Interested in a small part in a women's book?
I am in search of women who are willing to participate in a questionnaire for a book. Your answers will be used to create completely anonymous, one-page, journal pieces.
The end result will be a book containing a glorious blend of women?s current opinions, hopes, dreams, and struggles, combined with my moving oil portraits of women of all makes and in all stages of life. There are no questions that will identify you physically in any way, and there will be no references to connect you with what you?ve written. Women of all ages, races, religions, and lifestyles are urged to participate. I want the pages to be a reflection of all societal niches, showing the similarities and joined strength of women, while being unbiased and open-minded to show the much-needed differences we have among us. We carry the source of life within us, and all women have something good to offer humanity. Please e-mail me for more information or to participate in my little piece of women?s activism. shadoebox@hotmail.com. |

Write Your "Last Straw" Story for a book on validating women's psyches.
I am searching for humorous women's stories about what made them end their marriage/partnerships. There is usually a history of what lead up to the "last straw", for example, infidelity, control issues, money/business issues, whatever the case, please make that part short. Tell your story with humour and don't worry about non-sense. We do make sense, honor that. Inspiring stories that celebrate the choice you made. Be bold and don't hold back. Include what you think of marriage as it exists today. Is it outdated? Who or what does it serve? What does your spirit or intuition tell you about marriage? Is your spirit denied while your vows are honoured? Is marriage a control measure to keep the real power out of our hands? All opinions and viewpoints are valid and wil be treated with an open mind. What are you hopes, dreams, struggles with regards to marriage and is there another "last straw" in the works? Some last straws without the events leading up to or what happened since are: 1) "I looked across the breakfast table and realized I could no longer stand the way he chewed his cereal" 2)"He wouldn't let me buy an OSKAR (1980'S) saying our corn broom was perfectly serviceable, AND WE WERE WEALTHY FOR GAWDS SAKES" 3)"He repaired the car glove compartment with a white twistie tie". As you've probably guessed by now, the husbands/partners were never notified of what the last straw actually was that lead up to their world's being turned upside down. Please e-mail me if you prefer to writ your story and send to a P.O. Box. There will be no references to connect you with what you've written, except perhaps country. The end result will be a humorous compilation of stories that illustrate women's wisdom transcending measured intelligence. kelticgirl25@hotmail.com

Kelticgirl: I have no idea why the database isn't recording the two posts, yours and the one directly above yours. I reposted yours...let's see if it continues to show updated numbers now.

Hi Liamfan thanks so much, now I have two posts, people will think I'm desperate or very aggressive; I can be both but not since the wonderful death premature HRT patches. Who is Liam and why are you his/her fan? The picture is wonderful, it makes a girl want to grab his hand, find a meadow and make love to each other's minds. Yes? A little young perhaps, but the older women's wisdom thing has a certain attraction, most especially to Liam type names, that's Irish right? I sure know about the Irish. Thanks again, talk soon.

I don't think people will think you're desperate...there's some wacky database problem with those two posts that didn't show up.
(BTW, I am one of the message board managers, so that's why I'm 'interfering' with things here ;-) The Liam I'm a fan of is indeed Irish...his name is Liam Gallagher and he's the lead singer of the British band Oasis. But the picture next to my name here is actually Russell Crowe, another person I **adore** <g>. Yeah! I like the running off to the meadow idea! Good luck with your book! It's nice reading you here...you make me chuckle.

Looking for women business owners
I just co-authored Nine Lives: Stories of Women Business Owners Landing on their Feet. www.womanbusinessowner.com/ninelives.htm
The book biographies nine successful women business owners. Considering the appalling dearth of books on this subject (though there are hundreds and hundreds of biographies about male business successes!) we have been blown away by our early success marketing the book and we are already planning a sequel. We are looking for more women business owners who have faced challenges and landed on their feet. You don't need to be big business, you just need a great story. Apply online at www.womanbusinessowner.com/apply.html |

Do You Remember Your First Period?
Dear Friends;
Do you remember the day you got your first period? Most women do, but few have ever shared their experience with anyone else. I am gathering these stories into a book that will give voice to a universal female experience that is largely dismissed, but rarely forgotten. While some cultures help shepherd girls into their adult lives, the vast majority of us are on our own as we cross this important threshold. My book will tell the stories that women are hungry to hear?real stories that show we are not alone. So what about yours? I would love to know your story. I would also appreciate it if you could please forward this email, or otherwise spread the word, to women you know of all ages, in all walks of life. Please send me your story at mystory92@hotmail.com; if you prefer to talk while I write, let me know and I will gladly call you. I'd like to identify each story with a first name (although Anonymous will work), date and place. But I'll also need contact info for you in case I have questions. |

I'm in the process of collecting what I call ?Taboo Thoughts of Women? and with enough material will turn into ?Books of Reality.? I?m seeking thoughts you may fill guilt, shame or awkwardness about and wonder if you are alone in experiencing these thoughts. For example, it is known that during PMS women experience a mental shift resulting, in some cases, borderline insane thoughts. Typically, women don?t dare reveal these thoughts aloud for fear of having judgment passed on them. Therapeutically, however, women need to know their irreverent thoughts, however funny, sarcastic or brutal they may be could match the thoughts of many other women but also who are unlikely to reveal this personal information. This project, consisting of thoughts from a number of random women, is intended to reassure others perhaps battling with guilt they are in fact not alone. Please anonymously expose thoughts you?d rather never admit on a variety of topics by completing an easy on-line survey (www.womenscandidthoughts.com). Reveal as many taboo thoughts as you?d like within each category that applies. Some example thoughts, as a basis to get you thinking, are: Thoughts women may imagine only once a month -The PMS Crazies- Frankly, I?m too drained to care about anything or anyone. If I weren?t so annoyed by everything, I would be nicer. In advance, I apologize if at any point in the next few days my facial expression or attitude portrays I?d like to rip your head off. Clean, clean, clean-Everything is dirty! Why am I the only one that sees this! What?s mine is mine and what?s his is mine -Married Life- I just think he is intimidated about opening the scary dishwasher and finds it less overwhelming to pile dirty dishes in the sink. When I leave he?ll appreciate me. How did he possibly survive before me? ?and 10 other topics When you click submit, your form will be sent to my e-mail address omitting any identifiable information about yourself. I chose to do this hoping women will be more candid. Please help me propel this project by forwarding the link to any female friend, co-worker, neighbor, mother, sister, daughter, sister-in-law, aunt, cousin, niece and grandmother you know. I truly appreciate, as will other women, your consideration to share what normally you would not. Please bookmark the page to visit often and reveal new thoughts! www.womenscandidthoughts.com Thank you! Courtney |

This sounds like a way to say what we keep inside and are afraid to say it aloud nevermind to others just to hear it ourselves. Yet if we are to be really honest we all know there are things we have thought and most often than not done anything on them. That is my two cents worth. Have a great day!

Aspirations of older women
Writing an article for a UK magazine on the aspirations of older women and have two questions for anyone who'd care to respond.
What do you want to to be/see yourself doing when you are 60, 70, 80 or older? If you are already over 60, are you doing what you dreamed of, and if not why not?

I've been a writer for some time now (we're talking several years) and I'm currently trying to sell my first novel while working on several other pieces.
One of the things I'm working on is a novel involving a good-sized road trip across the US. It might wander into Canada, but I haven't completely decided on that; if the main character does head there, it won't be very far. Here's where I need help. Where do you live? (No, I don't want addresses; more like: "I live just outside Phoenix...Here are some of the small towns around here...") What is the area like? Good restaurants to eat at, esp. the more inexpensive ones, on or near the main roads. Rural area, big city, or anywhere in-between? Weather? If someone was traveling through, rolled down their car window, and asked, "Excuse me, but where's the nearest...full-service gas station/restaurant/inexpensive but good motel/hotel?", where would you point them to? Also, any quirky business, etc. (Example: I'm just north of St. Pete, FL, and there's a small ice cream shop fairly nearby in the shape of a giant ice cream cone. Very retro, very '50s, very cool, and reasonably priced.) You can PM me or answer here...Thanks... |

The Lingerie Diet
Hello,
I just wrote my first book! It is called "Secrets of the Lingerie Diet" and you can download a free sample chapter from my website homepage by contacting me here. I would love to get some feedback as it is my first book, currently available as an EBook or for portable readers like the Kindle, Nook, etc. The next step is to format it to be sold on Amazon-so I am really excited! We have built an online women's empowerment community that goes with the book and a 30 Day Lingerie Diet Challenge. It is my passion to serve women and to empower them to love their unique beauty at every stage in their lives! Thank you in advance for taking the time to look at my creation. What? In the simplest terms: it?s a means of real transformation, a way for you to rediscover your innate sensuality, glamour and beauty. It?s where lingerie education meets empowerment, support and expert access to The Lingerie Goddess. Who? The Lingerie Diet is the brainchild of Margaret Shrum. Margaret has been working in fashion, particularly ?boudoir fashion,? for over two decades. Her unique combination of life coaching/lingerie consulting?what she calls The Lingerie Diet?has been transforming the lives of busy New Yorkers for the past few years. Now she?s bringing her means of transformation to women everywhere through her online membership site called ?The Circle?. How? Margaret has created the 30-Day Lingerie Diet Challenge, so that every woman, no matter where she lives, can discover her own glamorous sensuality. In addition, our Circle membership site offers support, coaching, advice, community, and a wealth of regularly-updated news, profiles, and information about living life the way you were meant to: sensuously. Why? Because here at The Lingerie Diet we feel every day should be about being in touch with your sensuality, about feeling confident, sexual and sensual, and about experiencing pleasure. We should always feel deeply sensuous in our own skin, even when we?re running to the store for milk. Especially while we?re running to the store for milk! Read more, including the five secrets of The Lingerie Diet. |
