Dyslexia

So I am a 21 year old nursing student in Ireland. Today I took a educational assessment as I have a feeling I have dyslexia. The test today was very hard I thought and I am afraid I will end up with a bad result and this will effect my nursing career.

No it wont affect your career in a negative way. It will only open others eyes to reality! You choose how its a positive or negative. I choose the positive side personally. Makes you more lovable and thus generates understanding patience and a better life. Hugs

Hm, that's unfortunate, but people (famous) have met the challenge of Dyslexia in life. My concern with nursing would be dealing with numbers, dosages, names of drugs, etc.

Moon, it sounds like you felt like you had dyslexia because the test was very difficult. They make the tests difficult for a reason, but I bet there were alot of test-takers that felt the same as you. Wait until the test scores come out, because compared to the others, you may have done fine.

Statgirl - Have no problem with numbers once I can right it down - I am just having difficulty in my academic work and it makes me really angry - I can spend hours in the library and my assignments are still crap due to grammar, spelling, structure and what not.

I would suggest you get checked by a professional so you don't worry unecessarily.

So in the meantime dont stress do what must be done, and be positive for whatever the answer is, just means you were wise to seek help. Nothing wrong with that. Have a great day!
