How do you cope with anxiety?

I am having trouble coping with anxiety.Please help.

Does anybody have anxiety to the point where you can't remember ,get lost in traffic , can't find the way home,and have difficulty speaking the proper words during the episode. please help.

Welcome Linda, I have not had episodes like that, Let me ask you a question here? Have you talked to a close friend about this, or to a doctor you are comfortable with? Anxiety is hard to deal with on your own. Have you had a lot of changes in your life recently?

Anxiety and depression can go hand in hand. I know that when my depression deepens, I have more anxiety. And, I get lost, can't remember where I'm going or even why. Sometimes I have trouble finding my way home. That is when I usually stop driving for a while. And it seems that my vocabulary consists of about 100 words. I've turned my poor husband into a walking reverse/dictionary. I will describe whatever word I want to say until he figures it out.

I would definately make a doctor appointment and tell the doc what is going on if I were you. It may not even be anxiety! There are so many brain chemicals that cause the same symptoms. Also, how well do you sleep at night? Not getting enough sleep will cause exactly the symptoms you describe. Let me know what happens, please.

It appears that you're experiencing teen depression. frankly, you should see your doctor and try to get some anti-depressants which will help you tremendously and also strongly consider getting some counseling to help you handle anxiety.

In addition, Anxiety is coming as a result of not sleeping but for insomnia you need to look into some homeopathic ways to relax into sleep that's why you are becoming depress lately. Using lavender oil in the bath and lightly scenting your pillow can ease you for being depress.

Hi James001 most of your previous posts I agree...however I disagree about using pills for depression unless its ruled as a beneficial thing. In my area many get addicted to these things and thus unable to work and etc.

I agree with james001 in the fact that Linda should connect with a physician to explore these terrible attacks of anxiety. However, also agree with Wolf-angel concerning the idea that people can become addicted to the anti-depression drugs. Plus, if Linda is a teenager, it's more dangerous for her he take anti-depression drugs due to the possible side effect of suicidal thoughts. Without going the medication route, a person can go to counseling, see a nutritionist, and visit his/her church for help navigating these rough waters. Good luck to you, Linda.

Lightbulb coping w/anxiety

hi, i am ok now but have passed at times thru baaad anxiety at 67 yoa i have had time to go through a lot... at times i had to lie down on my back and spread out pressed onto the floor of my apt to calm myself. now i find i can use music ,,, it helps anytime for me to do some moving of my body... even pacing in circles or the opposite... just concentrate on lying down calmly...
but i knew why the anxiety was happening... a death or loss or some particular stress... still not easy to cope...
as the other post said ... different kinds of help are out there...

i have had periods of aniexty - my mom passed away and I had to sell my family home and had pressures of family arguements. Aniexty came at the strangest times - I tried walking it helped somewhat but does not work all the time

Anxiety is a serious problem. I am also a sufferer of this disease. I don't know it will works or you or not but my way to tackle with anxiety is to make yourself busy in work and in spare time spent your time with your kids.

Go see a doctor you trust. Once there the Doctor can help you by referring you to a therapist or psychologist (sp?) From that point on, it would be determined if you need meds or not. Learning coping skills helps tremendously. When I was having anxiety attacks I brought that here. Those few and true rare friends helped me deal with it head on. As they have over the years I have been coming here. LOL Wow long time. So hope this helps as it was meant too. Hugs

Hi all, Toepic I'm going to address this to you. Please find someone you can talk to openly. Someone you trust. Holding it in is one the worst things you can do to yourself. Talk to your dr. If your dr recommends a grief group, or a counselor please take the dr advise.
You need to be able to relieve your anxiety. Talking to someone who is not of top of the situation is best.. dr/ counselor/ therapist ... no shame in that. Don't get bogged into the family arguments if possible. Everyone will have different memories they may not be what you remembered. Why! Because Each of you are individuals. Your memories are that yours.. Something that affected your life good/bad or indifferent. Theirs are theirs. Don't get bogged into it. ... Talk to someone who can help, even just listen while you talk out loud instead of keeping it in. Good luck. Let us know what happens. We do care.

Its really difficult to cope this indeed.I prefer YOGA exercise for this.It gives me peace and relaxation.If you are also a fond of music too then you can also use to listen rock and fast music with exercise.
