There are many theories about why we have eating disorders. The only sure thing is that all too many women do have them. This is a space for us to talk about why and what and where and when. Please join in :-)

i still struggle with intense body image as a woman with a history of anorexia. i have many degrees and athletic accomplishments and yet i have this need to be perfect since my lack of spouse, children and meaningful career do not bring me satisfaction and identity. I have joined support groups but so often women struggle with overeating and how do I heal this most disordered and desperate part of myself? I am alone but very motivated to seek help and support. I was referred to your website through a Catholic nun who presented a discussion on Jesus and the path of nonviolence to my local peace and justice chapter. I am seeking community with like-minded seekers of simple living and spiritual truth and freedom.

When we start eating we see nothing and don't want, feel angry when someone interrupt while we are eating or drinking so that's the eating disorder and try to be in limits. We also cross our limits and don't know what is our belly requirements. so that's why the belly and weight gain happened.
