Weep not for the Blessed
(((((roo))))) Our trip to the mountains ran into rain about 15 miles out, but that didn't stop us. Then, as we entered the canyon that leads up into the San Gorgonio forest, there was snow on the ground. A rare thing to find snow there. Still raining. Then, we gained altitude, and the snow flurries began. By the time we hit the roadblock, beyond which only vehicles with chains or 4-wheel drive are allowed, the snow was heavy on the road and falling more thickly. We went on to a turn-off that we love to Jenks Lake and headed back as far as we could go, until the falling snow had accumulated 2 inches on the road, and we pulled off. Tibet was with us, and she dragged her belly in the snow, hopped, grinned, and fantasized that she might spot a mule deer. Em took pictures of me making an snow angel, and TheMan pretended we were back in Colorado.
(((((Star))))) Hurry up, Spring Break! Happy Saturday (((((Les)))))!

Man, it is so easy to miss posts around here.
(((((((Les))))))) And it was 23? in the mountains. LOL One thing that I like is that the pages of posts are longer now, which makes it easier to get around.

Your trip to the mountains sounds wonderful. Has Thomas ever seen snow?

Snow Blind
(((((Les))))) Yep, Thomas saw and touched snow in November of 1999 when I took him and his mom to Sequoia. He was only 5 months old, but hey. Today's snow trip was for TheMan and Emily, especially Em, since she so rarely has weekend days off.

{{{{{Les}}}}} For once, I'll be the first to say good morning! This is because it's nearly 3 am here and I haven't gone to bed yet. LOL! Too restless to post earlier, and now too restless to crash. Oh, well, I can sleep in tomorrow! have a nice Sunday!<p>
{{{{{Lou}}}}} Glad you had a good time up in the snow! The snow sounds great - the getting there and back sounds tiring. Sounds like it was worth it, though! Have a good Sunday!<p> {{{{{Moon}}}}} It must feel good to finally be getting everything in one house! Good luck with the rest of the move!<p> {{{{{Cookie, Gail, Vickie, Ching, QW, Everybody!}}}}}

S is for Stag Horn
(((((Moon))))) Hard to imagine you turning to algae in a still pond, what with the way you rise and set.
(((((biker))))) And now you are sleeping, Ozmandias curled up beside you. Awwww... (((((ching GAIL! EmpressOfMystery))))) (((((Les))))) I am still feeling the beauty of making that snow angel, looking straight up into the snow falling out of the sky, like zips of light. Today, more rain off and on, so I will be collecting sentences from my students' current papers to print up on an overhead transparency. We can talk about, ahem, fragments and faulty predication.
