Great Tupi! I like the way you are approaching your weight lose.

It just takes something to set it in motion. I weighed almost 300 lbs about 14 years ago. At that time I met my husband who was a very fit, athletic guy - and he fell in love with ME! Well, this was my motivation. I did not want to be the fat girlfriend. So, I started to research. I found that to lose weight and to keep it off, it was best to change your lifestyle. And, I did. I started by telling myself - how fat I was- I had the mind set of an athlete. I signed up with a gym and paid for a trainer. If I went or not, I would have to pay for his time -so I went. In the middle of the winter, with snow piled high and temperatures in the -20s I bundled up and went to my gym to meet the trainer. Money or loss of that is a great motivator.
I also set my goal that when I turned 50, I would get a modeling gig ( Which I did btw)

With my business background, I started to categorize the foods into assets and liabilities. Then, with the liabilities I started finding alternatives. So for instance I changed chocolate to fresh dates. As sweet, but healthier. Along the way, my taste buds changed.
After about a year I would allow myself a cheat day per month. I was allowed to pig out on cookies, ice cream, mac and cheese, pancakes. Anything I wanted. I noticed that I got less and less cravings ( btw- vit C helps curb a sweet tooth) I started to forget about my cheat days.
It is now 14 years later and I've lost 145 lbs and it is staying off. I am slimmer, healthier and have more energy than I had twenty years ago. Where I work, I'm the oldest and have the most energy. My younger co-workers( in their late 20s early 30s tell me they get tired just watching me)

I see that you have also found that changing your lifestyle is the way to go. Go Tupi!

Red face

I think one of the hardest things about weight loss is that it takes so long to make a big difference. If you've got more than twenty pounds to lose (like me), then you're looking at a commitment of months to get anywhere close to your goal weight. Like one of you said, it really does take a lifestyle change to get it off and keep it off. I am lucky enough to have a wonderful man who loves me for who I am, but I too don't want to be the fat girlfriend, so I've decided to start working on weight loss (again). This time, with him by my side, I think I'll be able to do it.

I just picked up a couple of SHAPE magazines secondhand. I had a subscription for 6 years, but it lapsed, so these magazines (and my guy) are gonna be the tools I use to help me get started on the path to being healthy and feeling good about myself again.

LiamFan,
Great to hear that you are doing so well. I know it is hard to get those pounds off. For me, I decide to approach it all as if I were an athlete. Looking at food to see if is good for my athletic body or not. If is was, I'd eat it. If not, I'd promise myself I could have some later. That "later" was forgotten within about 15 min. and I did not have the craving anymore. The other thing was I has set a goal. I wanted to look great enough to do modeling.
Well, I worked and worked. And I did it. I had a modeling gig. Just one which was enough.
I don't know what your body type is, but if it is anything like mine, it will take a lot of hard work for a few months of no weight lose. Then, all of a sudden, bang, it melts off.
Don't be discouraged about that, just keep going. You are getting fitter and "loosening up the fat". See it as your next pet project and learn everything and everything you need to know.
Last summer I fell and injured myself. I could not go to the gym. I'm still not back, but I started to walk again. My plan is to go back end of April and I'm working on the plan at the moment. To get some endurance because after almost a year I'm out of shape. But, I'm not worried, because I now know what to do and in about 3-4 months I'll bwe back in top shape- just like before the injury.
Good luck!
Keep me informed. I'm rooting for you!

If you want to reduce the weight of the body very quickly than you must do the morning walk daily. Morning walk is not only helpful to reduce the weight but also helpful to increase the stamina of the body.
