It's better, but "better" is a relative term. It still isn't anywhere near comfortable.

I feel like it's been defining me the past few days...I hate that!

{{{{{Les}}}}} {{{{{Lou}}}}} {{{{{Moon}}}}} {{{{{Friends}}}}}<p>
I'm finally getting back in here. I've been pretty busy. My excitement for today was a flat tire from a couple of nails in the work parking lot - the place next door is doing construction, and it *looked* like their nails. <g> Oh, well, I have AAA, and one of the guys in shipping (who I swore undying gratitude to) told the receptionist to tell me. So, I got to miss some work, play with a tire (I *had* to look at the nails!), and meet one of the guys I'd seen around. Looks like I get to go get the tire fixed tomorrow - what fun. :-/<p>
Yesterday, I had my first ostrich burger. It wasn't bad. It tasted sort-of like steak, but the consistency was more like chicken.<p>
Tuesday I went for my first elephant ride, on an Asian elephant named Dixie, at the county fair. I read <a href="http://www.havetrunkwilltravel.com"> HaveTrunkWillTravel</a>'s brochure first, and they are very concerned about the elephants' well-being, into preserving the species, etc. And what the heck, the elephants *did* seem happy. It was fun! I felt like I was in a Disney movie - the little red saddlepad (with railings! ROFL) would sway alllll the way to the left with one step, then alllll the way to the right with the next step, comically slowly but unexpectedly smoothly. I think knowing an elephant would be a wonderful friendship. They have that calm assurance of a big draft horse, and my, they do give such a blissful, surreal ride. :-)<p>
By the time most of you read this, it will be Friday, so, Happy Friday! <g>

Hi ya {{{Les}}} and {{{FolderFriends}}}!

Gosh Les, I sure hope your back is better soon. I'll send you some of my VicoProphen that I was given for my root canal. I happily didn't need to take them after the first two days!

{{{Lou}}} You know, I go through this period every year just before school starts. I guess it's the passing of yet another summer. The time between the end of school and the start of another year gets shorter each year.

However, I just came back from a 3 day conference called "Capturing Kids Hearts", and it was wonderful. I am again inspired!!! "If you have a kid's heart, you have his mind." The philosophy centers around relational teaching, building relationships with the kids you teach. I have always taught this way, and now I am more convinced that this is right, even if it takes more effort, more TIME for sure!!!

So today I go back to school for a half day to begin to get the computers ready for our teachers! Gosh, wish me luck in my new job!!!!!! I only hope I can still have impact on the kids. I will miss working directly with them!!!!!!!!

((((Les)))) I don't have vico-anything to share, but here's a cup of coffee that I just brewed. I even ground the beans.

And you can have the relative part of my "better," too. LOL

((((Biker)))) You rode an elephant!!!! That is so cool. I passed on riding a camel once in Tangiers. Elsie was with me, and she was 16, so she rode the camel. I have photos of here grinning big--which I imagine is exactly what you were doing.

((((*Star*)))) Yep. And this time around, I have to be English chair. <u>And it's not even my turn in the barrel</u>! Best of luck on your new job--you'll knock 'em out.

Happy Friday!

Happy Friday to you, too {{{Lou}}}

And hi {{{Nova}}}! And {{{biker}}} and everyone else.

I've ridden both a camel and an elephant. I remember the elephant ride more...I believe it was at a Renaissance faire of some kind, I remember the blanket being itchy, and the elephant's hide having hair like wire. It was cool, though. I remember the boy in front of me on the elephant better than I do the elephant ;-)

(((((((Les))))))))Have a great weekend. Hope you feel better.

I think elephants are marginally better than camels. LOL I think I'd rather watch. I had a Senator from ND book a trip with me this year. He wanted to go on an elephant safari in Thailand. I talked him into just a half day on elephants, then hiking, biking. He was sooooo greatful!

to all those of you who own ibooks:

is the display on the new, fancy ibook a lot smaller than on the old technicolor ibooks?

today i saw a new ibook (which i *had* thought about buying) up close and personal and the screen is <font size=-3>tiny</font>.

lou? i know you have a blueberry...is the screen wee?

<g>

hugs to {{{{{{{{{{{{{everybody}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}...i'm tired.

*yawn*

What I do for this girl.

vickie? I have a ruler here. I am measuring. The Blueberry's screen is 9 3/4 inches wide, 7 1/4 inches high. I do not think of it as wee. In fact, I like the way I can see a whole page on this screen that on the desktop is cut off at the bottom and right margin.

But stop and think about this. If you want a <FONT SIZE=5>GIANT SCREEN</FONT>, why would you buy a laptop?

This summer, I have been predominantly using the Blueberry because I've been working outside. I love it. :-)

((((vickie))))

Hiya ((((Les))))! & thanks for the use of your folder to (once again) discuss vickie's inability to make a purchase. LOL

HEY.

my inability to make a purchase is PART OF MY CHARM.

<g>

but LOL anyway.

and yes, i know laptops have smaller screens, but the new ibook just seemed freakishly small...like, really really small...as in: <font size=-3>wee</font>.

{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{lou}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
