since my last posting I have lost another pound.
I am not doing WW. What reason, none that I can think of... So 8 pounds total now. Having lived a very sedate life the last 3 years of my life almost any movement is exercise.

Would love to have my strength and endurance back. I do know that muscle weighs more than fat. So if I seem to slow down in the poundage dept. I took my measurements,
to see if any loss there.
They call it toning your body... I see it as being able to see my shoes someday. /me leaves thinking and wondering about reward systems. Do they work?

I gained nearly half a pound last week. It's the cheesecake, it's the cookies, it's the P O P that Dennis keeps bringing me. I can not resist, and I can't convince him to stop bringing them home.

In an effort to help this, I went grocery shopping by myself today. I bought just what was on my list, and Denn and I have decided to have a stricter budget so this is it for the food money this week. He does have a case of pop in the fridge but I'm not going to touch it.

That is my goal for today...

? Keep my stinkin' mits off Denn's pop

This last week, hmmm 2 lb. back on?? Exercise was out the window, right hip is out and painful but doing a little better by this post date.

Ok over did it. And I should have know better. Not giving up just side tracked...
the 2 pounds are ? waterweight ? and I know it. I loath having periods at this age.

Food for this next week, more oatmeal and fruit.
Boneless / skinless chicken breast... dry baked with paprika and onion. Actually have a nice little roaster so chicken is tender. I do them all at once and then baggie freeze them for salads or just to nibble
on.

Don't give up.... /me leaves cases of bottled water for everyone....

LOL DrHilieWho....anyone who knows me knows that if I didn't have a diet dew in my hand, I musta been sick..I'm down to 2 a day and only because of the horrid migraines I've been getting because of the caffeine withdrawal. I mainly drink spring water now. I keep it at work and in the car so I'm not tempted to stop and buy the soft drinks.

antiana..the chocolate you leave in my folder is always gone before I get there, lol.

-2 more and counting...that's a total of 17 so far. The big test will be the Pasta Lady<g> We have vendors outside our office. My favorite is the one I dubbed "The Pasta Lady". And she's back for the summer! Several times a week I would have my favorites. Since I can't have pasta anymore on such a regular basis I've been avoiding her cart. Which isn't easy.

Good luck everyone!

I was down 2.6 pounds yesterday. I'm starting to really notice it!

Oh, AND I HAVE MY PERIOD, so I'm anxious to see how next week will be.

I don't know how it evolved, but Mondays are my "weigh days". I just knew when I stepped on the scale this morning, it was not going to be nice since I had a really bad cheat week last week. But....

-2 pounds! WooHooo... that's 19 so far I was so excited I was glowing all day!

I won't mention breakfast:-( but for lunch I paid a visit to the pasta lady...I had fruit with cheese wedges and *gasp* bread... that's my downfall. For dinner I found a really nice chargrilled chicken wrap that had lettuce, tomato and a bit of cheese in it..it was simply delicious and everything on it(not counting the cheese) was on my diet, along with the fatfree dijon honey mustard dressing to put on it.

Anyone else notice how something can be fatfree, cholesterol free and have tons of sodium or sugar, or just the opposite? I'm having a hard time finding stuff that has just the right amount of what I need or don't need. It's been an experience for sure.

Self Challenge

I picked up the March 2001 Self magazine at the chiropractor yesterday and read the article about their annual "challenge." They give you weekly goals that are not too huge, and increase each week over 3 months. There are even example workouts you can do at home if you don't want to sign up for a gym right away. Prizes, an advice hotline, weekly newsletters with encouragement and tips.. and you can sign up and keep your log online!

I signed up this morning!!

Exclamation Holy cow!

The Self site is quoting 13 calories per pound of current body weight daily as being the intake that will lead to 1-2 lbs lost weekly - if you are exercising. In my case that's an embarassingly large number of calories... I should have no problem staying within that today, even if I eat a cookie (though I certainly had no problem blowing it completely away yesterday! LOL).

Took my walk (1 of 3 cardio workouts required for week one) so it looks really encouraging to already have a checkmark on my log...

Weighed and measured yesterday. no loss, but on the bright side no gain either. Hip is feeling better but the load of ibuprophen is high and irritates my stomach. Drinking water is helping my want to over eat...

Have found a hobby to keep my hands even more busy. Gemstone hunting...
good one I don't leave the house.. haha. but as I get more interested and reading more the more I think about leaving the house for short walks. Oh, I do have some example stones to study. Even bought a dremel tool to do a few craft items. Ok maybe this belongs in hobbies. lol

Oh yes, the calorie,
fat, sugar, carb, and protein dilemma. Unfortunately, there isn't the perfect
food. Thats why I think if you find a healthy
way to lose weight stick to it even if it takes longer then the "fad" ones. Then it also becomes a way of life.
Sheesh I do go on...

Weight ups and downs.....sheesh...where do I start? LOL
I joined WW about a month ago, and did pretty well, I lost 7 1/2 lbs., then got lazy, quit, and I am sure it is all back on now..

So hard, I find food is an addiction for me. I want so badly to lose the weight, and then I eat anyways...

And then you get folks like my MIL, who ask me how am I doing with my weight loss? And do I really think I can stick with it THIS TIME?? ugh.....

Hope to get back on track soon, summer is almost here, meant to be much smaller by now...

aww {{{{{ Susie }}}}}

come on kiddo, you can do it. Heck, I'm still stuck at 6 pounds lost. But I am holding it there.

We all fall off the diet wagon now and then... so it really has to be a "life style change". But you didn't put it on in a few months and it will take anywhere from 6 months to a year for you to reach some satisfactory weight loss.

Mean time educate yourself in nutritional values of food...
I still believe in eating a little of everything is best. Right now I and Mr. Anti have to watch the fat intake. But we had cake yesterday. Regular cake mix... except just the 3 egg whites, and substitute 1/2 C. water and 2 tblspoons flour for oil. Baked it on a jelly roll pan. We eat it plain or a little raspberry jam spread thin.. yummy We saved ourselves 850 calories on the whole cake.

Ok I am 1/2 pound lighter, and lol I am logging it in here. My last # on my weight digits is the only thing I will reveal... and I am just below the zero.

Back to The MIL... would a pie in the face do her.
did I say that?

Well, one week down successfully. Too soon for any change in how my clothes fit, and I've decided to weigh only once a month.. but I feel more alert, more confident, less depressed. That alone makes this worth doing!
