I have so many favorites... one of my very favorite favorites is The English Patient. The story, the scenery, the acting, it's all so perfect. Other favorites listed in no particular order include:

Say Anything (the director's cut was just released on DVD and it's awesome! Well worth owning!)

I really liked O Brother! The music, the story, the acting; all were great and a lot of fun. I just ran out of steam towards the end of my list.<g>

Isn't it weird how a movie can be a favorite, then you think about an actor in that movie (or the director or writer), which leads to another movie which has another actor or director or writer which leads to.. well, you get the idea.<g>

Ain't life a trip?<g>

And, Beautiful Thing! That needs to be on my list too.<g>

There are also many movies which, although excellent, can't be on my list because they upset me so much I can never watch them again. Fight Club was one of those films. I know that it was just doing its job, but it did it too well and upset me horribly. The Piano was another, as well as Blue Velvet, American Beauty and The Ice Storm.

Naw Liam, you're not a freak. We all have different "disturbance" lines. That one just happened to cross mine.

Edward Scissorhands is great. I have the DVD of that one.

I find Fight Club disturbing (I can't watch most of the fight scenes); but man, oh, man...Edward Norton raises my blood pressure...LOL

I have some other, older, favorites. "Four Seasons" is one of them. I just love the way the movie is laid out, so to speak...like a novel.

Sleepless in Seattle is another favorite.

I love Sleepless in Seattle. And if you're really a dork like me, you can make it into a double feature. First I watch An Affair to Remember and then follow it up with Sleepless in Seattle.<g>
