Mmmm, I would love a place like that near here. I would have to drive almost three hours to get to the only place I know like that. :-(

I am in a quandry. I am coming here and asking all of these questions as I am very new but want some womens perspecitives --so I think I am in a good place. Here goes....I want to have weight loss surgery due to my size and body image . I have been fat all my life and am morbidly obese. I am 5' 4'' and I weigh about 345 lbs. Now this is not something I am proud of. I am in a place where I am doing horrible damage to my body and shortening my life dramatically. I really want to get some help and diets have never been something that I have been able to do. As for exercise, when you are so incredibly large....this is nearly impossible. I walk daily and go swimming often...(4 times a week) but I am not losing weight. If there is anyone out there that has experienced morbid obesity or WLS please can you get in touch with me. Thank you so much.

Sunshine~
I just had this surgery in January and would be glad to answer any questions you may have. I am down around 65 pounds already and I feel wonderful!! I understand everything you said in your post and have been there for years. It was the hardest and the best decision I made for myself. |

Do indulge but do so on a smaller size portion. This way you get what you are craving without adding on more. Chew slowly and savor. I lost 60 pounds doing smaller portions giving in to my cravings chewed slower and thus savored the flavor. So dont beat yourself up just get back on track. Or you can "reward yourself" For sticking to it for a week. Hugs

sunshine... please enlist the help of your dr / nutritionist. It is very important for you to do this. They can encourage you to start eating the correct portion for yourself. While doing that talk to a therapist to find your underlying problem.
Good luck/ don't give up/ hang in there. Ask for help and listen to what the professionals tell you... dr.. nutritionist... therapist. Wishing you the best in all of this. Let us know how you make out. Every little bit of weight loss counts. Remember that. Remember if you want to reward yourself for doing good.. don't use food as a reward. Do do something nice for yourself. Best of luck.

I understand I am fat yet tis from having toxemia aka preeclamsia (sp?) during two pregnancies. Yet I have lost sixty pounds and thus doing better. Yet I want to slim the last bit of 50 pounds yet or at least get toned. Yet at the same time I am a Type 2 Diabetic. So I must be careful and keep things in balance. That is where the doctor and nutritionist comes into play. Work on doing a food diary. This will help pinpoint areas of things you are missing from your daily diet i.e. fruits or veggies. Slowly incorporate them back in and you will see that you eat less of the other stuff. I hope this helps as it was meant too. Hugs and Have a great day!

I would do the same. I usually eat curiously too sometimes. These days I have a a painful neck, and I didn't want a greens or something like that, so I had freezing natural for lunchtime. I have to be cautious not to do that too often.
