Hi gsf! Let's see, I adopted Dory sometime in January. I'm not sure of her age before that. She's so easy to take care of. I change the water every other week or so and feed her 4 little floating balls of food daily. She pops up to the top and gobbles her food as soon as she sees the shadow of my hand above her bowl.

Maybe she is GOING for my hand!!

Just don't let your fingers get too close to the water.

How cute!Cod,I haven't had fishes. But I had a shell parakeet. His name is Piko.I called him Piko-chan.He died of old age. When he had become weak,I went to a veterinary hospital with him.He liked to take medicine mixed in water. It is easy for us to take care of a bird. But we can't be away from home for a long time if we have one.I hear there are companies which look after your pets while you are gone. However,I don't know they can also do birds.

Yes having a pet can be a problem when you are away for an extended period of time. I will be going somewhere for the summer that is a 16 hour drive. I plan on taking Dory with me. Can you picture me holding a fish bowl for 16 hours??

OMG!!! Cod I truly can see you holding that fish! My I be so bold as to suggest a trip to the pet store and pick up one of those small cover plastic container? The don't cost much.
I don't meant the cheap plastic cups they diplay them in. They have these square containers that are only about oh, 3x3x5. They even have ones with little handles on them. Good luck. I hope he doesn't get air sick

Are there many pet stores in your neighborhood? When I was a child, there are the feilds near my house.I could also see many frogs. My friend who lived in a big city was surprised because he had seen ones only in pet stores. Now many houses have been built near my house.I can't see the fields and frogs any longer.I don't like frogs. But it is enjoyable for me to go to a pet store.Especially, rabbits are very cute.

I live in the country. We have miles of nothing but corn feilds and cows! To go to the pet store, I have to travel about 15 miles.I enjoy the pet store. The one nearest me is own and run by a set of twin brothers. They look very much alike. The only differnce is one wears glasses!
