Red face Yay! Boards!

This is sleepyhead, checking in! <g>

{{{{{Scribe}}}}} and {{{{{Friends}}}}}

Hope I'm doing this right! This place sure looks different - kind-of like moving into a new house. I'm sure we'll all get comfy here as the new wears off. I'll just leave some cozy candles and warm blankets to help stave off winter's chill.

Today I have decided to start the Anne Rice book, Merrick, that I got for Christmas. It's a chilly day (for So Cal), and it feels *so* luxurious to just hang out with Ozzy and read.

Hope everyone is well, and finds us here soon!

I hope this is okay - I created a thread under Announcements & Information > Information Requests called "Unlocking the Secrets of This New Forum."

I thought we needed a place to share what we learn about navigating this new setup. If I've inadvertantly duplicated someone else's efforts, please feel free to delete mine and direct me to the existing one. Either way, hopefully it will let us get up to speed faster if we dedicate a thread to sharing what we discover.

I have an idea!

Let's call this Presidents' Day and everyone go home!

Today is a holiday for me, and although the birds are chirping right now, it's supposed to be rainy all day. So, I am staying in and writing, doing school work, and nursing TheMan, who is very sick with some virus or other.

(((((Les)))))

Hi there (((((Skye)))))

Good morning {{{{Skye}}}} Nice to see you!

{{{{Lou}}}} Awww to the SickMan. Hope he feels better soon.

And yeah, how come Presidents' Day doesn't appear to mean anything here?

WooHoo, I am home Banks are closed

I took my son looking at trucks, he has a notion to buy this one he saw the other day. So, off we went on a test drive. He looked at me and said, Mom...do you remember how to drive a stick, and can you teach me? I was so proud, we got in the truck and found a lot and I showed him how to work the clutch and gas and brake at the same time. The first thing I made him do was to drive up this steep hill from a complete stop. He did it without stalling!! He drove it for about 10 minutes and said, ok I'm nervous, take us back to the lot. lol!

It hasn't started raining here yet, but there have been some disconcerting series of booms that I think are "just" the Navy shelling San Clemente Island. They're dull thuds with some underlying menace. It's funny, they sound louder when I'm inside than when I go out and stand on the porch - the wind that is starting to blow booms in my ears on almost the same frequency. Oh well, hopefully it's just the Navy destroying an island , not someone inadvertently locked in one of the garages below. (Really, if someone were locked in the garage, they'd yell, right?)

I read Merrick until my eyes failed me at about 3 a.m., and got up this morning to finish it. Anne Rice has become far too fond of her own voice, but if you can get past that, she spins the tale well.

I'm off work today - one of the holidays they gave us in exchange for the year-end shutdown we'd always enjoyed. Since the radar shows a *big* weather system on the way, I'm staying home and doing laundry today, unless I decide to go catch a movie. Even that isn't likely, since I have a zillion channels on the tv and can probably find a movie I haven't seen, without leaving the house. I have a grocery delivery scheduled for sometime within the next hour and a half, and I sure hope they get my order right - I'm in no mood to go to the store.

Hope everyone has a good day!

:) Awww...

(((((Skye))))) Teaching and being taught to drive a stick is pure tradition in my family.

Hey (((((biker)))))! Really? There's a real system? I'd begun to think we were just in permanent overcast. LOL

Hi (((((Les)))))
