After MORE than 4 years I finally earned my BS degree (with honors) in Operations Management. I had to wait tables and work min wage jobs to help pay the bills (by the way I wuz a single mom all the way thru college). Now I am a purchasing agent and I work for a company that sells educational products (boy is this a cool job). I'm sooooo glad I finished school.

I believe we women need to stick together. Always believe in yourself and don't settle for less than you deserve!

I am an INTJ type. I work as a systems adinistrator at a school district 3/4 time and as a network tech 1/4 time (torubleshoot systems, networks and workstations at two different schools). I spend a lot of time with kids, which I like. Especially the wee elementary kids who are just too cute. I'm not an educator though I have agreed to teach an "Introduction to Applied technology" course for the high school. I have summers off and use it to fish and camp.

(((((((BUSY One)))))))) Congrats and hats off to you! What could be harder than to be a single parent and work and go to school! I went back to college at 33... it was hard enough and I had no kids!

I'm co-ordinating programs for young women ages 11-14 and 14-18 this summer. I'm looking for ideas for creative workshops on topics like self esteem, body image, media awareness, gender issues, homosexuality/anti-homophobia, racism, sexuality...etc.
if anyone has experience or has run successfull workshops like these and are interested in helping me out, can you please contact me. thanks

Hi squiddy! I've watched and participated in workshops like the ones you describe, and one of the most interesting that I remember was held at a community college. The initial topic was "classroom assertion," but the focus shifted quickly to fathers of girls/women. The panel was composed of young women ages 18-20, some of whom could not function in classrooms because they felt intimidated, and others of whom were so assertive that they couldn't understand why other female students did not just speak up. Each told stories of their father, and what we learned loud and clear was that those with fathers who had encouraged free exchange between themselves and their daughter raised assertive, confident women. Those fathers who were distant or played the role of disciplinarian only or were just plain absent, raised daughters who feared all authoritarian situations.

And my career? I teach. LOL

I am so very thankful for the test site! I will have fun with this as I am seeing such few options in terms of career moves. I am glad that this will give me a chance to view something a bit more tangible than the ideas that float through my head while doing my boring little job.

I have a home based business that I am building. I'm not getting rich quick or anything, but it does bring me fulfillment and allows me to do something that I enjoy. I work in the area of network marketing and I have grown so much as a person from it! It's not for everyone, but I love it! Okay, that's what I do.

I am a working mother of 2. My son is 10 and my daughter is 7. I work within a dealership as a Service Consultant.
I was in the military for 6 years-Security Police. Then onto waitressing and bartending for years. 2 and 3 jobs at a time to manage the bills and 2 children. Then I worked within a Freightliner Dealership for 3 years. Moved to Texas where I started in the automobile dealerships. And here I am now in Colorado in another dealership.
I don't know if I would change it all.
But I know that I would change some of it especially the 2-3 jobs at once. That is insane. And if I could get within an office and make the money that we are used to now I would in a minute. I would jump at it. But for now it sure does pay the bills.

I'm a 42 year old single parent, from England and I work as a psychiatric nurse, which entails shifts, weekend and bank holiday working.
I used to work on an acute ward which I found very stressful. Now I work in the community, which I love.
I'd be really interested to learn more about psychiatric nursing in Canada & U.S.A. if anyone would like to get in touch. Julie

I haven't chatted online before not to sure what I am doing but I'll give it a go. Gidday girls I work in australia in a small town. Our closest city is Newcastle and the Largest city is Sydney which is about 2 and one half ours drive from where I live. We live close to the vineyards, we have beautiful birds in the garden and we have two dogs.
