CARRY ME

Carry me through the falling snow
Carry me down the winding road
Carry me on your shoulders high
Wipe my tears when I need to cry
Carry me on your sturdy back
Carry me along the narrow track
Carry me through the wind and rain
Carry me through the hurt and pain
Carry me deep within your soul
All through time and forever more
Carry my heart close to your chest
And I'll carry you when you need a rest

I wrote this one when I was pregnant with my first child. I think it turned out cute

CHANGES

Changes are coming
They're on their way
Any minute
Of any day

Changed forever
Our lives will be
A new addition
To our family

A little person
To love and hold
A part of us
As good as gold

Always will be
The binds that tie
Us all together
Until we die

Changes are coming
And new to us
Will be our child
Full of trust

We'll always love
Our child dear
We'll always be there
Always near

Changes are coming
Sent from above
For us to care for
For us to love

Soft cotton candy clouds in a rich blue sky
light green grass waving hello in the the breeze
a waterfall cascading over a mountain top with the rich colors of the rainbow
and a bird's musical greeting to say hello

A playful kitten stalks a weed
the waves in the ocean dance in harmony
as a light wind gently kisses my cheek
and the tree branches welcome me with a wave

The loud silence of peace
the smiles that tug at my lips
and the warmth inside overflows
as I give thanks, not only to God, but to you
my friends, my sisters, and my mentors

For without any of the above,
there would be no dreams, no hopes, and few friends
so I say thank you and I pray that the riches you've given me
shall be returned to you many times over

Morning Memories

Grey dawn stream flows quietly by,
reflecting now the awakening sky.
Slowly stepping. Scurrying moss.
Squinting searching amid mornings frost.
Leader leading, tippet gracefully falls.
Fly sinking slowly with irresistible call.

Rippled water on wadered thigh.
Graceful flight unaware of the sigh
now passing dry lips cold with wind.
A quiver of tail and bright flash of fin.

Staccato rhythm, now sparking the eye.
Line stretching taut from backing to fly.
Reel sings soprano, spinning the sound.
'Tis the creature below, fighting but found.
Splashing excitement, hands pale and wet.
Beautiful rainbow dancing in net.

i pondered this choice long and hard, which one of my babies to send out into the cold for the first time. I have never before sent my poetry out anywhere. I was always afraid someone would take it, i admit to being very paranoid. This is not my best, because that one is still too much mine. This one i wrote when i was a tad more innocent and very much younger.

Melting Happiness

You are my melting happiness
I watch you floating to me
a tiny angel in a dress
The snowflake that you be.

There are tiny angels
playing in the snow
they dance, twirl, and fly about
God's way of saying hello.

Then floats my snowflake
all, continually down
oh my melting happiness
you look pretty in your gown.

My tiny ice princess
spinning madly to and fro
dancing to a magic song
my heart follows where ever you go.

Crystal drops of shimmering glass
cling to the window sill,
as if begging for the life of my lass
whom the sun wishes to kill.

Her brothers and her sisters,
appear in the sky
reaching for the branches
of a Rowen tree nearby.

A velvet blanket of silence
fills the cool night
A wind rocks the rickety fence
just out of sight.

And while all this happens
my snowflake still is falling
china glass of silver,
my melting heart is calling.

It lands on me
the shadows and shades of its intricate design,
a beatiful sight to see
Belongs to my heart, melting, mine
like a child's fantasy.

Gone, but there in my twinkling eye
you see the star
that fell from the sky.
Forever after its beauty lends
my heart laughter -
a child's friend.

my first one in over a year...?

Gaia Unveiled

Gaia is modest this morning.
She wraps foggy veils around
sweetly swelling hills to protect them
from the eyes of passing travellers.
Sol teases her, impish rays flirting
with the fringes of her coverings.
Layer after gossamer layer melts
Under his loving gaze.
Revealed, her beauty dazzles.

I love the teasing sun, the undressing. Lovely. Visit more often.

Where I Live

Baby powder sand between my toes
Salty air teases my nose
Warm waves massage away stress
A skimpy suit instead of a dress
Heat waves caress my skin
Dolphins jumping make me grin
A place to heal, a place to rest
Florida beaches are the best.

(((Terri))) I think you must live in paradise. Here's tit for tat . . .

Where I Live

Sparrow chirp,
wasp hum,
the tangled shadows
of rose bushes
painted dark as grief
across the stone walls.
Today begins
overcast, fog
slowly dispelled
as if a mirror clears
and reveals
more blue.

California Dreamin' For Lou

California Dreamin', a song that I once heard, a place where I want to go, a vision in my head, dancing natives, flags flutter

California Dreamin', way back long ago, a person that I once knew, told me a story of gold and Spaniards and burning ships

California Dreamin', I see you up ahead, clear skies over me, I'll meet you there one day when the fog clears

California Dreamin', across the great divide, the other side of midnight, a place somewhere over the rainbow where Hollywood resides

California Dreamin', where my friend Lou dwells, a land she loves, the place where her feet pad the soft swells of landscapes and her lips touch the skies
