This is alway tough.
Savage Garden - Affirmation Bill Douglas - Kaleidoscope and maybe Jewel Lake At least one good collection of Bach, maybe the Windham Hill Back Variations Gypsy - Enchantress John Denver - boxed set or, if limited to one, Windsong Jackson Browne - boxed set, or I'd settle for greatest hits Eagles - Hell Freezes Over Libana - Fire Within, and A Circle is Cast

Please forgive me, if you feel this is the wrong place for this post, but I looked at the other threads, and it is an IMPORTANT MESSAGE, for modern music lovers.
I have just finished watching a DVD, made by English television (BBC). It is called "The Old Grey Whistle Test". This was the only live, serious modern music programme, in England through the 1970's, 80's and 90's. Six of my top ten are included, but that is not the reason for me posting this message. At least half the artists are from North America, and the rest are so international that you will know them. It comes with interviews, and cover stories that are truely timeless - priceless! I have no connection at all with it, except that to see something so wonderful compels me to let people know that it exists! It cost ?30- here, which I think is about US$35-. I promise you this is not spam. Check it out in your local store. And please let me know of other special music DVDs. I'll post my top ten CDs soon!

That's not spam at all annebebe! DVD's have provided a whole new world of viewing for music, movies, documentaries, etc.
Another awesome DVD is "The Last Waltz" by Martin Scorsese. Both the audio and video were restored or redone or remastered or re something for the DVD. It's excellent! |

I agree, Pegasus. It IS hard to narrow it to only 10! LOL!
I'll try, though. Melissa Etheridge--any of her CDs. I love them all. (Can I put them altogether as my own version of a boxed set?) The Burns Sisters--Out Of The Blue Gershwin--American In Paris (flip-side: Rhapsody in Blue) Billy Joel--boxed set of his greatest hits Sinead O'Connor--Faith And Courage Saffire, Uppity Blues Women--Absolutely anything by them Tracy Chapman--again, can anyone say "boxed set"? I'm not sure what else I'd pick, since it would be pretty limiting... |
