{{{{{Moon}}}}} I haven't seen "Meet the Parents" yet. It looks like it'd be pretty funny.

(((biker))) that movie started rather slowly, had a few very funny moments, but Tom and I both agreed Ben's constant suffering was uncomfortable to watch. I'd give it a 6 on the funny scale. Never believe friends who say a certain movie is HYSTERICAL! Maybe they went to happy hour before seeing it, though. ;-)
Man, it's sunny and beautiful here but......TWENTY EIGHT DEGREES! <sigh> Happy Sunday (((friends))) |

((((((Moonie)))))) In Liam's folder I was taken to the most current posts...in yours I was taken back to February. Have I mentioned that I don't particularly like these new boards??
We rented Meet the Parents last night. I kept waiting for it to get funny. It's snowing here today! Last week we were in t-shirts....it's back to winter-wear! Ahhhh..Spring time in Chicago! Ya know, it was a year ago this weekend we were all together. <sigh> |

(((((((Moonie)))))))))I only chuckled once or twice. I had expected belly laughs! I was uncomfortable as it seemed meanspirited more than anything.

{{{{{Moon}}}}} Ya know, from what you guys are saying, "Meet the Parents" sounds like one of those movies I consider "stress humor." I find those uncomfortable more than funny. Sometimes, when I'm reading the synopsis of a movie, I'm shocked to see it's considered a comedy. Glad I'm not the only one that finds some of the "comedies" mean-spirited.<p>
Speaking of which, I'm in a bit of a funk today because the guys are going to Cabo *again,* for the third year in a row, and once again, Sean said months ago that I was invited, then when it comes down to it, I'm not. He started the "you'd hate it there, the water's dirty..." speech with me last night, and I abruptly cut him off and said he'd already given me that speech last year. He said, "you can come along when you want" (which is of couse *inaccurate,* to put it politely). I told him I *always* wanted to go, and he knew that, and stalked back into Mike's place. The "you'd hate it there" speech is such a crock when they always come back telling me what fun they had. I swear, if they come back and rub it in again this year, somebody's gonna get punched, hard. Probably Sean. This is why I don't trust him one iota when it comes to all his tantalizing promises about Hawaii. Grrr!<p> Plus, I still have the bellyache today, and don't feel like going and doing anything anywhere, I'm not about to houseclean, I'm sick of tv, none of the books I have lined up to read are pulling at me, and I'm broke. Rahhhhhh.

Listen to your friends!
((((Moon))) I totally agree with you on Meet The Parents! The best clips were in the coming attractions, and they were waayyy to mean to Ben Stiller, the poor guy! I thought they were rather snotty...speaking of snotty, I told Sue she was a snot this morning. She replied; "I'm SNOT a NOT" ROFL!
Glad you had a good visit! ((((BX)))) Give the video a pass! ;-) |
