I tried to buy tickets for the kids to Paranormal Activity last night...the lady at the ticket window wouldn't let them go in unless i went in and watched with them..and ummm...can you say NO?@?@?@? sigh...so they went and saw the Fourth Kind instead and were scared stiff!! LOL! Poor Felicia didn't fall asleep till after two this morning... so apparently, it's worth the money if you are into that kind of movie.

I'm anxious to hear how they liked Paranormal Activity. I'm with you.....don't like to do scary movies in public but love to watch them from the sofa with a pillow to cover my eyes after they come out on DVD

LOL! Well, at least they got the scared. I always knew when my daughter had her fill....she didn't want to sleep in her own room, with or without the lights on. Hmmm....I thought the previews for The Fourth Kind looked scarier than Paranormal.....didn't realize the ratings were different.

I recently saw The Kingdom starring Jaime Foxx and Jennifer Garner. The movie was better than I expected. I'm not a Jaime Foxx fan mostly because he has an obvious ego. I'm glad the movie did not have a happy ending. It would have been odd for this type of movie to end on a good note.

My 2 younger grandkids went to see "Where the Wild Things Are" .. they did NOT like it at all. They found it both scarey & sad. They are 8-6yrs old

Irish, I did hear that it was not meant for kids, that it was made for adults to "remember their childhood".
That's a bummer. Felicia and her friend ended up seeing Fourth Kind instead of paranormal activity, and it scared the beejeezus out of both of them. She didn't sleep for days.... LOL. Poor kid.

I have to tell ya, we went and saw Avatar. This is the second time for both I and my roommate. (we took his son) I think it is one of the best movies I have seen in 3D in a long time. It's beautifully done and I love the "Birds" they ride on. They remind me of fighting kites.

Hi, WendyO. Welcome.
It's been a while since I've been to the theater to watch a movie. When my daughter and SIL lived in the area, they both worked in 2 different local theaters as assistant managers, so my sons and I would get in to watch tons of movies for free. I sooooo miss that! |

I just saw Paranormal Activity .... it scared the pants off me! Which is saying something because I've kind of become desensitized by scary movies. Anyway, I've seen three other movies since then... Gamer - it was ok, but not great ... mostly I just like to watch Gerard Butler! Surrogates - OMG this movie was so good, one of the best sci fi movies i've seen in a while. The Boondock Saints 2 - Really just fan service for anyone who liked the first one. That said, I really liked the first one so I really liked this one. Also it was more laugh out loud funny than the first one. Well that's it, all the movies I've seen recently (not counting the Mystery Science Theater 3000 I watched last night). Sorry about the big long review ... I'm just kinda bored waiting for UPS to get here.
