For me, though, the scary part is how many young...read the age of 15-17...men who are serving life for at least one murder. Last year, we had a 14 year old in here who was classed 'super max' security rating for 5, yes FIVE, killings. His explanation: 'I just wanted to see what it felt like to kill someone.' Now HE was creepy...dead eyes, skinny as a rail, and he had this cold aura around him. He's one we kept in lockdown, and when he went anywhere, it was in full restraints and with 2 COs as an escort...he was that dangerous.

Even the cops are respectful of COs in this state. A number of us have had police tell us they wouldn't do what we do unless they could carry a gun.

I have to exercise early in the morning before my brain figures out what I'm doing.

My grandmother started walking five miles a day when she was 60. Now she's 97 years old and we don't know where the heck she is.

I have flabby thighs, but fortunately my stomach covers them.

The only reason I would take up exercising is so that I could hear heavy breathing again.

I joined a health club last year, spent about 400 bucks. Haven't lost a pound. Apparently you have to show up.

I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.

The advantage of exercising every day is that you die healthier.

I don't exercise at all. If God meant us to touch our toes, he would have put them further up our body.

If you are going to try cross-country skiing, start with a small country.

My Grandmother, to my knowledge, never drank liquor in her life, at least on purpose.

She was a very gentle and proper lady, a pillar of her church and the community.

In those days door to door salesmen were welcomed, out in the country and none more so than the Watkin's Man.

He was almost regarded as a guest and was frequently invited to eat a meal when he visited with his wares.

He sold all sorts of wonderous things and always left a little gift when he left, such as a thimble or pot holder.

One of his products was an elixir for general health and nervous conditions.

With two of her sons in the service, during WW-2, she was worried and
depressed, so she bought a big bottle of this elixir and took it as directed.

Lo and behold she did feel happier, as a matter of fact she got downright giddy when she took it.

So much so that my Mom
read the fine print on the bottle to discover that the stuff was
40% achohol. Alarmed, she told my grampa, who grinned and said,

"Now let's just keep this between you and me honey, I'm enjoying
your mother's happy times.".

There were these two elderly people living in a Florida mobile home park. He was a widower and she a widow. They had known one another for a number of years.


One evening there was a community supper in the big activity center. These two were at the same table, across from one another. As the meal went on, he made a few admiring glances at her and finally gathered up his courage to ask her, "Will you marry me?" After about six seconds of careful consideration, she answered. "Yes, Yes, I will."

The meal ended and with a few more pleasant exchanges, they went to their respective places. Next morning, he was troubled. "Did she say 'yes' or did she say 'no'?" He couldn't remember. Try as he would, he just could not recall. Not even a faint memory.

With trepidation, he went to the telephone and called her. First, he explained to her that he didn't remember as well as he used to. Then he reviewed the lovely evening past. As he gained a little more courage, he then inquired of her, "When I asked if you would marry me, did you say 'Yes' or did you say 'No'?" He was delighted to hear her say,

"Why, I said, 'Yes, yes I will' and I meant it with all my heart." Then she continued, "And I am so glad that you called, because I couldn't remember who had asked me."
