Did the news related story have anything to do with Oprah?

East of Eden is the answer. Why'd you scratch it off?
East of Eden, 1955, line spoken by Academy Award winner Jo Van Fleet, director Elia Kazan died this week. Your turn, DLC!

Well, when you said in the news I remembered reading about it in a column the other day. Supposedly the book is having a comeback and they're giving credit to Oprah for having it on her book list.
Of course NOW I can't find the article, lol... I'll be back at lunch, I have an 8am meeting with the big bosses about last months numbers |

Well, that could be, but the news story I was thinking of was the death of Elia Kazan...

Okay, here's one...
Appropriate on the eve of my laparoscopy... "You give me powders, pills, baths, injections, and enemas -- when all I need is love." /me is a little nervous about the surgery tomorrow and could use a hug or two, but nope, I didn't utter that movie quote. Can any of you tell me where it's from?

{{{{{{{WA}}}}}}} I can certainly understand a jitter or two. Oy! Be sure to post as soon as you can to let us know how you're doing. We'll play movie quotes and keep you entertained while you're resting.
The Bridge on the River Kwai. {{{{{WA}}}}} <--- above is the hug and that's the "or two". |

ROFL to cheating. If I had ever worked as hard in school as I did researching Elia Kazan movies of the 50s, I would have made some teachers very happy.<g>
William Holden said it. My mom had an enormous crush on Willam Holden and my dad is obsessed with WWII movies and documentaries. Now that I think about it, his preoccupation probably helped contribute to my mom's crushes. An obsession for an obsession, it's only fair. |
