Well, apparently you really can grow strawberries in hanging baskets. They took off like crazy and produced lots of little white flowers and then just today I noticed the first teeny tiny little green strawberries. Yea! :-)

((((( Addie ))))))) Fresh home grown strawberries! Hope the yield is plentiful! I bet they taste better and are far less expesnsive than the ones found in the grocery store. Enjoy!

Do you think there will be enough to make jam?

That is an excellent question {{{{{Candle}}}}}! Of course, I haven't got a clue of an answer for you, but an excellent question indeed! <g>

This was sort of an experiment. I had watching something about growing strawberries in hanging containers so I figured I'd give it a try. I planted 20 plants and 2 different types of strawberries. One variety produces less berries than the other, but they're the big dipping type. The other type is a smaller berry but more of them. Time will tell and I'll certainly let you know. :-)

Around here, no strawberry lingers long enough to become jam.

((((((( Addie ))))))) Best of luck with that experiment!

ROFL Lou. Have you ever gone strawberry picking and eaten more than you put in the basket?

Excellent point {{{{{Jamless Lou}}}}}<g>

Not to mention that I would probably blow up the kitchen or create a lovely jar of botulism.<g>

Hey, that's not all bad.. people pay for injections of that stuff to get rid of wrinkles, ya know.. you could turn a profit on your strawberries!

Speaking of strawberries (but not gardening).. we have a roadside market type thing here and yesterday they had fresh picked strawberries from the farm in the next town. I bought a whole flat of them.. I intend to enjoy them til I make myself sick <g>

The roadside markets here are the best when the peaches come in, later in the summer.

There's strawberries in botox??!!
What a waste! lol Think I'd rather have them in my mouth than under my skin.

The corn on the cob sold at the roadside stands here, just can't be beat! Especially the peaches 'n cream kind.

Is peaches n' cream corn the same as butter and sugar corn?

(Not to worry. Before we spread any horrible rumor, there is no botox in strawberry. It was just one of those topic drift thangs.<g>)
