{{{Angel}}} I have missed you too! I do pop into chat now and then, but I find there is no one there when I have time to chat - I guess you all chat at night, anyways, I will keep trying!

I am biting the bullet and trying to loose weight by watching my calories. The bad thing abotu watching you calroies is that they add up to fast . I thought I was doing good today for lunch and breakfast.. only had bout 435 cals between the 2 meals.. but dinner was a diaster. Just 2 tuna burritos were 565

Have you tried any other kinds of diets besides just watching calories? Just curious...I'm reading about the "zone diet" right now... I'm gonna do that one after I read up on it ...wanna do it right.

{{Pooh}} {{Minty}} {{Cinder}}
Pooh, is the Zone one of those high-protein, low carb diets? I am still on my "weight watchers" like diet. I sort of follow their plan, but I am doing it at home on my own. When I started I was between 169-171 pounds, and upon weigh-in this past Monday morning, I was 145...... <G> I went out last week and bought new jeans - size 10!! Never thought I would see that size again, lol. In reality I think I am more a size 12 but those jeans were relaxed fit, so they worked, anyways.......my point was that I can certainly understand the weight struggle, been dealing with it 15 years or so now......it can be SO hard... Good luck with what you are all doing ladies! |

It's more like a ration of protein and carbs... it breaks it into blocks... 7 grams of protein is one block... 9 grams of carbs is one block and 3 grams of fat is one block...
The general idea is to balance your blocks in your meals and how many blocks you can eat in a day is based on a formula... so my blocks fall like this: 3 blocks of protein/carbs/fat for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and 2 1 block snacks during the day. So, you eat 5 times in a day. I've got three chapters left in the book...so I haven't started yet...and each time I think about it..I get butterflies and panicky...but I have to do SOMETHING! I've gained like 60lbs in the past three years! I hate how I look and I hate how I feel...sooo... I gotta do something. My doctor actually recommended this diet...so it can't be all bad right?

I dunno what I am trying to stay under. I am just starting. I just want to loose weight. I know it was 1000 calories. I am "winging" it. I am trying to eat more fruits and vegetables. I love my starches and meat so cutting them out completely would be a shock to my system. I figure in a month if I don't feel a difference then I know I haven't done something right.

Hello Ladies
Hey Susie good for you I started the Atkins diet 2 weeks ago. I have lost ten pounds so far. I count Carbs, no sugar,bread,pasta. It almost reminds me of a diet for diabetics as you snack every two hours. I walk everyday and don't cheat. My biggest problem was I loved sweets and junk food. |

It's been a while since I have posted here.....haven't made any huge progress in a while....I am down some weeks, a little up others, so it has kind of been evening out......this morning I had my weigh-in though and I am down 3.5 pounds.....2.5 of those were pounds I had gained back, but one pound was a "new loss" lol......
What I have been doing to try to get myself back on track is to make short term goals. I started last week with a goal of going from 147.5 to 140 in 2 weeks. So, this mornings weigh-in was a good start. need to lose 4 this week, and I find if I really stick to the work-outs I can do that. I am wearing size 10 jeans right now, not bad considering I was a size 18 when i started. Most things I am a 12 in though, so my goal is to be a comfortable 10 (in all clothes, not just jeans, lol) I will keep you posted... susie |
