Can't speak for Biker, but it's okay with me it rains from now until March.

(((((Lou))))) and (((((Scribe))))) What we really need in So Cal are about 10 of these mild storms, with at least a week between them, so the ground can absorb the water. For me, today has been pretty easy to take since I've stayed indoors, but I'll yowl like a wet cat when I have to get out in the rain.

Now that work is over, I'm really sleepy! As much as I'd like to be going to that birthday party in Hollyweird tonight, I've pretty much decided not to drive up alone in the rain in the dark in a truck that has electrical shorts when it rains. I still haven't found a ride nor a rider, which might well swing the balance the other way. (((Lou))) Thanks for the caution. I really do leave my road rage at home and drive patiently in the rain, mostly because I don't trust "the other guy." Oh, for a limo, *just* for tonight! LOL!

Little Ozzy-cat seems to know how good he has it, being warm and dry inside today. He's curled up so contentedly on my bed. After looking at him, no wonder I want a nap.

Maybe a nap, some dinner, THEN a re-evaluation of driving to Hollywood. Oh my, I DO want to go to that party! But looking outside, the clouds are so low they're sitting in the treetops, and it really does look (on the weather news) like it'll rain most of the night. Knowing my luck, even if the truck ran alright, I'd still manage to look like a drowned rat at the big b-day party. I can never manage to stay dry and composed when it's raining.

Sorry to be obsessing, but tonight's party was one of several reasons (like being able to get to WORK) that I put all that money into fixing the truck two or three weeks ago. But pretty much nothing is going to make the electrical shorts go away, except a few consecutive days of dry weather. I *know* I'm a pain when sitting on the fence trying to change conditions through sheer force of will, or go against my better judgment. LOL Sorry!

No apology necessary {{{biker}}}! I love reading about your travails...the unabbreviated thoughts of a wild woman.

Unabbreviated, but not unabridged! If you go to the party, I'd like the unabridged version in my mail box by morning. ((((Biker)))) Oh, and Fritz says looks like an El Nino year and as much as 24 inches for the season.

((((Scribe)))) You'd get a hoot out of being in southern California during a rain storm. Roads closed, cars sliding into each other, surfers riding 6-foot waves in polluted water, mud slides, and water backing up out of sewer drains. Oh, and people wearing shorts out in the rain. LOL

(((((Les))))) Thanks! I can always count on you to understand these things.

(((((Lou))))) Yikes at 24 inches of rain! I had heard moderate El Nino, not one of the real nasty ones (extrapolated from the GOES satellites' data, I think), on one of the news stations today. But I'll believe ole Fritz--he's been around forever, and he knows California weather. He also knows how to use his resources well.

Well, I'd better go see what's up in a couple of chats. ;-)

((((Cod))))!

Hmmm, Biker's not up yet. This could mean that the birthday party was a go. ((((Biker))))

I just made a centerpiece for the family brunch tomorrow, and omg it is beautiful--in my Chinese blue bowl, I arranged red berries, yellow pepppers, glossy leaves, and orange roses.

And I have a goodie bag for Thomas that includes red mittens with monsters in the palms, a view finder and five reels ranging from Pooh to dinosaurs, a Christmas moose, and a very special California Hotwheel. I can't wait to see that boy!

Rose has mamitas, which means that she lets only Mommy hold her. But Elsie says that she will leave the room while I hold Rose, and we'll work through the crying. For Rosie, I have a soft lion beanbag toy, and the lions paws are teethers.

I am going to make the blueberry cream cheese bundt cake now.

((((Scribe)))) I see you there hunched over the keyboard at word #12,729.

(((((Scribe)))) (((((Lou))))) (((((Moon))))) (((((Folder Friendlies)))))

No party for me last night. I decided against driving up to Hollyweird alone in the rain at night. But, my longest-haired friend came over late to party, which kept me sane. Unfortunately, I started literally falling asleep on him (as we watched hours and hours of The Osbournes--MTV was replaying the first season, and there were a LOT of episodes he hadn't seen). I'd have enjoyed the company more about 3 hours earlier. As it was, I booted him by about 3 a.m., got to sleep about 4:30, and woke up with a bellyache about 6:30, crashed a couple more hours, and decided I was awake for a bit. I set up to tape Andromeda later, and decided to stop in here and whine that I missed the big party last night, dang it! I need a local partner in crime again for missions like this.

There was a soggy notice on my door last night saying they plan to turn off the electricity from 7 to about 11 a.m. Sunday (tomorrow). Geeeeez, an hour into football! How much that annoys me will depend on who is playing in the early televised game(s). But I DO resent having to reset a bunch of clocks again, so soon after time change! I guess I'll either sleep through the power outage, or go out for breakfast if I'm hungry. If it's as gloomy as today, it'll be too dark to do much else.

It's stopped raining for now, but it's still quite cloudy and chilly. We're under a near 100% threat of showers through this evening, and there are fog advisories all day, which is rare. So, guess who is going to stay in and nap, do laundry while I have electricity, and hopefully stay out of the rain again today?

Hope everyone is doing well! It must seem odd for me to just start babbling in here again. Feeling lonely, I suppose. 'Tis a gloomy weekend here, for certain. Later...

(((((Lou))))) Hi! Sorry, not much of a story to tell here, besides what's in the post above. :-/

I hope your visit with the kidlets tomorrow is wonderful! The lion with teething paws sounds adorable, and Thomas is going to make out like a bandit! LOL I hope you guys have a fun, relaxing visit! It's long overdue.

My fingers are SO crossed here that the LouFamily will get together FINALLY tomorrow, that I can hardly type! (((Lou)))

(((Biker))) the guy here has one of those 'please shoot me now migraines'. Imitrex did NOT work this time. I'm sure you can sympathize, right?

(((Scribe))) I'd have come up there and walked with you two, but well, it's FAR and I can't really walk yet, so... I did NOTHING today. Call me lazy.

((((Cod)))) and ((((Migrainey Recliner Boy)))) Migraines are the worst! I can sympathize with 'please shoot me now.' (Just use a silencer!) Hope he feels better soon. Sometimes the Imitrex just doesn't knock them for me, either. That's so discouraging. A cold pack on the back of the neck helps me sometimes. I wish him well!

{{{{biker}}}} {{{{Cod}}}} {{{{Lou}}}}

I didn't do half as much writing as I should have, but I'm hoping this evening will be more productive.

Migraines are such a scourge...I wish they'd get those things figured out.

Lou, I hope your visit goes well! Sounds like Christmas!

And biker, maybe the electricity will be on before the game starts...that would tick me off for sure, especially this year when I've suddenly transformed into a rabid football fan. LOL

I'm watching "Follow that Food" and they're following beer...this French chef just made a roast that almost had me licking the t.v. screen...now I want to make a roast for dinner! Maybe tomorrow...I think it's too late for one for tonight. LOL
