Wink Hallo everyone

Hi I am new to WOW. I am from South Africa. I am a stay at home mom with two adorable boys age 5 and 8. I do machine embroidery for exstra income and just love every minute of it. We stay on a sugarcane farm and also farm with tomatoes. http://www.hookedonembroidery.20megsfree.com is where I display my masterpieces, have a look and I would love to meet people from all over the world with the same interests.

Hugs

Sabriena. It's nice to meet you. Welcome to WOW.

I'm from Canada and enjoy many creative pursuits, but as yet, have not tried machine embroidery. I popped over and visited your site....very unique designs and I appreciated that the pics are large so you can actually see the designs really well.

I'm sure there are probably others who visit these WOW message boards who also do machine embroidery. Do you have any tips or hints you could share?

I've discovered a new craft that I just love. It's called Wire and Bead Jewelry and if you can bend a piece of wire or string a bead you can do it too. I've made two projects so far and I think they are beautiful. They are posted at my website under the Craft Section. My website is http://www.mickey-ellman.com.

Something you should know :)

Dear ((((((Mickey)))))))) I clicked onto that URL and I was sent to The Computer Management Group,Inc. Is that where we are supposed to go? then from there where to? I would love to see what you have made with the beaded wire jewelry. Have a great day!

oops no that's not where you're supposed to go. I'll have to get my puter nerd son to fix that since he set it up for me.

Wire & bead jewellery

mickey. Any luck getting that link fixed? The crafting stores are filled with wire, beads and books on that type of jewellery and it looks like it's going to be around for a long time!
There are even special tools out for making wire into tight coils, loops and knots.

Unfortunately not, but if you type it in instead of clicking on it you can get there. <g>

It's just the link that doesn't work, my son works for them and that's where my site is so he's got to fix it.

If you go to http://www.wire-sculpture.com/patterns.html you will find some there and at http://www.wigjig.com

For those that have one near you, Michaels carries the tools and other supplies now.

Let's see if this works:
http://www.mickey-ellman.com/

I tested it and I think it will work. <g>

Go to Crafts/Wire Jewelry and you should be able to see them this time. (I hope. lol)

Beading

/me waits for solarsis to find this folder

solaris, if you get here, what type of weaving do you do when you make your earrings and what kind of beads do you use?

If you check out a few posts earlier, mickey is into beading too! She does wire and bead jewelry.

mickey, if solaris comes in this folder, she is new to the boards and has done beading for 10 years! Cool, eh?

What kind of beading does she do? there are all kinds.

I used to make pictures using x-stitch patterns and seed beads in different colors. And there is the beading using a loom and also just stringing beads to make beautiful necklaces. so as you see there is all kinds and different sizes of beads.

The ones I'm using for the wire jewelry are from 4 to 8 mm beads.
