{{{{roo}}}}

A woman I work with is in Denver right now...her husband is in line for a possible job there and they're looking at houses this weekend. She was rhapsodizing about the mountains when I spoke with her yesterday.

Hope you have a good weekend!

{{{{{Les}}}}} Nice to hear things are getting back to normal at your place. I'm still doctoring my burnt thumb, and am so annoyed with my work that I still can't talk about it in any detail. Suffice it to say that it's a good thing I telecommute today and Monday - I've been on the verge of telling them to shove it all week. My poor boss is sick with some mystery illness that his doctor can't identify, so I'm trying not to burden him with my gripes *too* much. Late next month I will have been at this job for 7 years, and am beginning to wonder if that's plenty long enough. If not for the telecommuting and cool boss, I'd already be gone. Free-lancing is starting to sound *very* appealing to me. I think I'd try it if I weren't so far in debt.

As I've mentioned elsewhere, I have no weekend plans. It's supposed to rain tomorrow, and is plenty chilly today. I am still *so* ready for some real spring weather around here.

How's the house coming along, anyway?

The house is coming along just fine. :-)

Right now, all we have to do is wait. Our loan guy recommended we wait until May 1 to lock in our rate, since on that day, he can special 15-day rates (I think it's all a game, personally). After that, we just wait for the close, and then pile all our stuff into a truck and move in! LOL

Sounds simple, eh?

{{{{biker}}}} I understand your disgust with your job. Mine has been pretty good. The one part I didn't fully understand is beginning to make sense (thanks, in part, to the two hours a guy I work with spent on the phone with me, walking through the process, something other co-workers haven't taken the time to do).

So now, I work on getting that license and making the big bucks...ROFLMAO

I'm sorry....I couldn't read anything after that "sounds simple, eh?" remark concerning MOVING! I'm afraid I was laughing too hard.

(((Liam)))) oh yeah....not a thing to it! Have you ever had a root canal?

Nah...it'll be fun! I'm doing it next week again in fact!

{{{{{Les}}}}} I've been following that protest at the Summit of the Americas up in Quebec City for a couple of hours now on CNN - it's getting pretty hairy! I liked the young woman duplicating the Vietnam War protest gesture by carrying flowers up to the line of policemen. I do hope it stays peaceful.

Several years ago, when my company was looking for new products to produce, I suggested gas masks. They laughed me off. Guess what? Now they're starting design work on gas masks, presumably for police and military customers. I find that ironic.

Oh, and imagine packing but *not* moving! My sister is going through that now. She says that the big pre-move cleaning project has been productive anyway, and having all her Blue Willow "china" packed safely away will give her a chance to treat the wood in her china hutches before she puts the dishes back. I think she's mostly massively relieved not to be moving, taking a $1000 a month cut in pay, and uprooting their 14-year-old right as she enters junior high. But, she's devastated for her husband losing the cool gig that was based in Nashville.

I offered to meet the band when they come out here and see if I can taunt the person who set my BIL up into copping to it, then beating him up. I think it would be a hoot for him to get his butt kicked by a chic. But, since they haven't figured out who it was, they declined my "generous" offer. <g> My sis said they're such wusses they'd probably call the police, but I told her that would be fine so long as I got the guy beat up first! I believe there should be consequences to setting someone up and getting them fired.

I, on the other hand, am on a looong week, but that's okay, because it's going to be warm tomorrow and we're scootering to work, yessss!

Where, oh where is Lou?

Last I heard, Lou was smoochin' that soft cheeked little boy!

(((roo))) my brother and his newly pregnant wife are over on their lot attempting to camp tonight. It's chilly, and rather dank.....so I'm making up the guest bedroom. ;-)

They'll be trotting over later I'm SURE....

{{{Dot}}}

Moving day is May 15th, but we technically have until July 1 to get out of the apartment, so that's why I'm not too wired about the move.

Here I was all hepped up about painting, and the house is newly painted! Maybe we can paint the apartment when we move out.

Goodnight Moon. :-)

Actually, I'll probably paint the house anyway...I'm sick of white walls. I've had white walls for 20 years now.
