^5 Cod!! While you mention tieing a human to a post and beating it with a stick you should mention tie the human to the bed of a pick-up truck. I feel strongly about this. If the doggy is good enough to ride with ya he/she should be inside the cab of thr tuck and seat buckled in for his/her safety as well. It is illeagal here inCa for humans to ride in the back of pick up trucks un less the seat is bolted down and has a seat belt.. it should be the same for animals. My opinion is if it is dangerous for a human what makes it less dangerous for a dog? Ok I'm gonna get of my soap box here.. said my peice. /me just hates to see animals treated less then humans.. they may not walk on 2 feet but they are living beings with feelings! Yes my cats talk LOL. Grem can say "Grem" in his cat meow if you ask if he is Giz or Grem. He also say " Mom" as does Giz.* goes off to talk to squirrels*

Gun laws vary from state to state Minty. Here it is also legal to use deadly force if you feel your life is being threatened. I think that forensics would indicate if the intruder was shot in or out of the house though.
Actually, I agree with being able to defend oneself. In the world we now live in there are no certainties and criminals get away with law suits against folks whose homes and businesses they have broken into. That to me is the worse crime. I also feel that a dog should not be riding in the back of a pickup truck. Even when properly hitched things like bugs can take out a dogs eye. We occasionally take Luke out for rides with us in the car or the Blazer but I don't believe there would be any real way to buckle him in and in an accident I personally believe his chances would be greater if he could get out of the vehicle. We as humans have the ability to unbuckle ourselves. He does not. |

It looks like there is going to be war. If war ever really solved anything why in the hell do we keep going back to war?
((((((((((( Tops))))))))), Not all zoos can take care of animals they way they should be. The zoo here in Sacramento has to small of cages for the larger animals in my opinion. AS for the seat buckling in the dog I was prob going over board but there are seatbelt attachments for dogs... I don't know exactly how they work since I don't have a dog. I am glad you don't put Luke in the back of a pick up truck.

Mintyfemme @ Napa's. It looks like the war isn't going to be over anytime soon. I haven't been watching the news on a regular basis at home for the simple fact I don't want Sallve to worry about what he hears. I was watching some stuff here early this am. I see that people are still protesting the War.. blocking streets and stuff in NY and San Fransisco to name a few places. How do ya'll feel about these people protesting so vehmently?
Here is my opinion. One of the great things about America is that we do have the RIGHT to protest in public anything we don't like. The reason we have this right is because many brave young men and women gave up their lives in past wars . They CHOSE to fight so that ALL men and women can be FREE I may not like war but I respect and honor the brave people who VOLUNTARILY put their lives on the line so I may have rights. In my opinion the time for protesting is over. Now is the time to show SUPPORT for our soliders and our Goverment, united we stand, divided we fall. By showing support for our Soliders and Goverment we are letting our foes know that if they attack we will do what ever it takes to restore our safety and the safety of other countries and our freedom means more then just "lip service". I wonder what our enemies think when they see protesters burning the American flag. I have always paused when I see an American flag to show my respect for our great country. When you pray please pray for our soliders, when you thank God(or your Higher Power) for all the blessings you have recieved thank God for the soliders who are putting their lives on the line for our freedom , thank God for the families who are allowing their loved ones to go off to war. |

I'm scared to post a reply to napanative, and the whole idea of this war is to create a society where that fear is removed, isn't it? Well, here's making going to the dentist a little easier!...
I'm not from the USA. I have no loyalty to it, although it is a natural friend, and our societies expound similar values. My concern is for the real, human lives of the soldiers, knowing that there must be some vile individuals amongst them. And caring for them too, not wanting to prejudge them in the abstract. How can I do that without granting the Iraqis the same? How easy to hate the people we have nothing in common with. How easy to choose sides, as Bush demands. How easy to pigeonhole strangers, and dumb down the English language with sterile words so that nobody needs to challange their own opinions. How easy for people who want to, to hate Jews, Blacks, Irish, Iraqis, the disabled, or Lesbians. I have survived a society of real fear, hate and prejudice, to an extent where I cannot ever go back to hating a stranger again. (I have no trouble hating people I know)! We know how hurtful a flippant unintended comment may be. Our memories can find 30 seconds of pain, received decades ago, in an instant. The pain is still real. When the USA writes off 'Old Europe' as forgettable, remember that we had been killing each other (always with God on our side) for hundreds of years. Yet in the last 50 years, with both the USA and USSR trying to stop it happening, we reached a time where not only could France and Germany never go to war again, neither the UK or anyone else in NATO or the former USSR could ever do it either! We did this! Not our parents, not you, not the Superpowers, but us - with your opposition, we did this. The USA will win this war with Iraq. But the cost in life will be far higher than anyone signed up to. That is horribly shocking. So horrible, so, so numbing. The people who decide when this killing will end hate me and the world I desire to live in. George and Saddam hate me. I don't know about the rest of the world!

((((( Folks )))) This will put things into perspective when you wonder just what you mean to your kids..... 2 weekends ago, we ended up going ot the ER b/c Casey was having the WORST sinus infection, migraines, everything (she's much better now) and while she was in the waiting room, I was playing with Taylar to pass the time. Well so to be silly, I barked. "Bark arf arf WOOOF" Taylar looks @ me and starts giggling. "Mama, you're not a dog !" We play some more.... I then moo @ her. "Mooooooooooooooooooooo...." Taylar is laughing some more. "Mama, you're not a cow !!" Well OK so we go back to playing and then I quack. "Quack quack quack quack" By now Taylar is laughing pretty good... "Mama !! You're NOT a duckie !!!!" So I turn the tables on her and ask..."Well OK then, what am I??" thinking she is going to say a girl or something...... She looks @ me and goes.... "Nothing... you're just a mom!" I about died laughing. Aren't kids priceless treasures ?? Hope y'all enjoyed this Hugs, Tartie |

Making love to your partner in your home is now LEGAL!
Since last Thursday every gay and lesbian has been sleeping with their partner legally! Do you feel more like a US citizen now that the law has said they will stay out of your bedroom? That relief is nice but why stop at making love? What if I want to marry my bed partner next?
I was listening to a local talk news program yesterday and they were talking about our newest right as of Thursday. They believe by the end of the summer there will be an Adment added to the US Constitution in escence BANNING Gay and Lesbian marriges all over US. Some Sentator wants to make that Adment in the Contstittion. The news anchors opened up the phone lines and the question was "How would allowing Gay people to marry legally affect you?" At first there many calls from Gays saying that Gay marriage would be GREAT! But the anchors wanted controversey so they asked for people to call in and why gays should NOT marry and how it would affect them if they did. I was so outraged listening to these people call in! One guy was saying that Gays and Lesbians would ruin the insurance rates of employers because if they got married then employers would have to offer their partner insurance to .. he also said that they would be having a new partner every 6 weeks! That ruffled my feathers a little but nothing like hearing a man say " If we allow Gays to marry what will be next... goats and people?" Well I was pretty peeved but I was still dialing and waiting for a clear line . Then a lady came on " What next make it legal for a man to have an attraction to a child?" I was so wanting to air my opinion on that statement! Then sone one else calls in and says that Gays can continue going to lawyers to get written agreements for the rights a marriage would have afforded them! Hetrosexual people instantly have over 2000 rights the minute they go sign their marriage certificate and say I do! Can you imagine going to a lawyer over 4000 times to get the same rights a hetrosexual can get with just visiting the courthouse once and goine to church to get married? If you are lost in my math .. 2000 rights at one trip to the courthouse vs over 4000 trips to the lawyers office; Many of the rights would have to have 2 and 3 legal forms spelling out what is wanted . Any how enough of my ranting about this. Can ya'll think of listening to more ignorant people? Do you think that over 2/3 of the House of Represnitves, over 2/3 of the Senate, and over 3/4 of the each states registered voter population is going to be willing to agree to an Adament change by the end of the summer ? Btw I never did get through till they was about done talking about Gay marriage. I wanted so much to blast them people too .
