Minty here at Napa's. I want all my WOW sisters of Womensspace to understand that I am in no way not reconginizing their marriages to thier husbands of many years. I think ya'll are AWESOME and have lovely unions that one day I can only hope to immulate with my beloved even if she is not a man. ((((((((((TOPS))))))) you are such an awesome friend. ((((((((((RAZZIE))))))) you are truely a unique friend to all of us. While I am typing I want to take a moment to thank my wonderful partner Napanative. She is has been such a godsend to me this last week. Napa has been literaly waiting on me hand and foot since I had my gallbladder taken out on Monday.. she even done my laundry while I made a very poor attempt to help her. Napa hasn't even complained one bit.. not even when I sleep in the easy chair and she sleeps alone . If ya'll see Napa around give her an extra hug please

Well, I agree to all of the above, and to quote Bush, "I have no comment at this time."

Quote from Tammy
"We're obviously an opinionated, intelligent group of women in here.. so... what are we doing that will actually help stop that amendment from passing? Posting and discussing is all fine and good, because it helps us understand each other and learn, but it's not going to change anything "out there" where that amendment is hanging." I never EVER ever EVER claimed to be intelligent

Minty, great job on the letter.. and congratulations on the response. I love it when they actually answer, even if they just blow steam
If you want to take it a step further, Mr. Ose gave you some useful information in his reply. The first piece he gave you was HR 2677 and I looked that up for convenience Title: To amend title 1, United States Code, to eliminate any Federal policy on the definition of marriage. Sponsor: Rep Frank, Barney [MA-4] (introduced 7/9/2003) Cosponsors: (none) Latest Major Action: 7/9/2003 Referred to House committee. Status: Referred to the House Committee on the Judiciary. If you notice, Mr. Frank is hanging his ass out there alone, with no cosponsors on that bill. Write to Mr. Frank and offer your support and encouragement since he's doing what you WANT. Everybody likes a "thank you" now and then, so go ahead while he's doing something you LIKE.. 'cause later on, he's probably gonna do something you hate and your chance will be gone Mr. Frank doesn't accept email from folks other than the ones that live in his district, so you'd need to do it on paper and mail it in. Barney Frank Massachusetts-4th, Democrat 2252 Rayburn HOB Washington, DC 20515-2104 The next thing you know is that HR 2677 was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary. So, write to the members that make up that committee. You can just make a few minor adjustments to your letter up there and write to them specifically about HR 2677. Or at the very least, write to the Chairman. Mr. F. James Sensenbrenner, Jr. of Wisconsin: 2449 Rayburn House Office Building Washington, D.C. 20515-4905 E-mail: sensenbrenner@mail.house.gov His website says be sure you include your postal address if you email him. There are about 35 other members of that committee, so I'll put that information in a separate post. You don't have to live in their district to write to them about legislation the committee is considering. Sometimes it annoys them to get mail from people other than their constituents, but hey, that's life. The second tidbit of information Mr. Ose gave you is HJ Res. 56, sponsored by Marilyn Musgrave. For the sake of correctness, according to the legislative info site, Musgrave is not from CA, she's from CO. I also looked this one up for convenience: SUMMARY AS OF: 5/21/2003--Introduced. Constitutional Amendment - Declares that marriage in the United States shall consist only of the union of a man and a woman. Prohibits the Constitution or any State constitution, or State or Federal law from being construed to require that marital status or its legal incidents be conferred upon unmarried couples or groups. That would be what you DON'T want to happen, so you'll want to write up letter against that legislation. Unlike Mr. Frank, Ms. Musgrave has 75 cosponsors signed onto her bill. I'll come back and post their names in a separate post, because this one is getting pretty long. Take your letter against that piece of sh... er.. legislation According to the bill status, HJ Res. 56 was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary, which is the same committee as HR 2677, then referred to the Subcommittee on the Constitution, so you'll want to contact those subcommittee members and voice your opinion about that legislation. I'll post that contact information in another post too. And last but not least, write back to Mr. Ose and tell him you support HR 2677 and encourage him to sign on as a cosponsor. Tell him you oppose HJ Res. 56 and encourage him to do the same. Based on his first reply, there's a 99% chance he's NOT going to do it, but that's not really the point. The point is to tell him what you want him to do, so that you aren't silent. |

FOLKS !!!!!!!!
Now as far as the whole webbies not bein able to chat, i know tons of us have inundated web with phone calls and emails to basically no avail. you can also (i did) email icq since this is their problem as well goto http://www.icq.com on the top of the page, towards the right hand corner, their help link go about halfway down to chat issues and click on that scroll down to the bottom of their list if faq questions to one that says what if i have more problems or something like that click on that, then fill out all the imformation you can, most of it is computer setup organised, leave them blank, and fill ot what's going on. if you're a webby tell them how long this has gone on, how you are logging in, or trying to, and what happens, if nothing, or if a screen pops up, tell them everything and how agravatin it is to have been able to chat and now cannot and how much you want this fixed. computer users tell them that you want the webbies back. inundate them !!!!!!! i'm going to post this in a few boards too as well as on my webtv help page on my website, i will see if i can get a direct link so we don't have to go throuh all that if possible. http://razberrietart.bravepages.com/webdork.html try that later lol good luck folks !!! Hugs, Tarte |

I have DLC. I just do what everyone does. I go to my home page, click chat on the top row (mail, search, favorites, chat, messenger) then in the top right hand corner of the chat screen I click 'go to'. When that loads, i fill in irc.icq.com change the port to 7000 instead of 6667 and fill in the room name i want to go to and click connect. ithin a minute or 2 it loads. So I don't know if or what I am doing differently as this was the way we were told to get in and it worked for a time for everyone and now something changed .....
Should I be hearing Twilight Zone music now ??? Tartie |
