Should I call you Irish-eyes or Angel?
I wouldn't trade Pirate for anything in the world. I was pregnant 6 times and Pirate was the only one that lasted over 16 weeks. And I wasn't supposed to be able to have kids at all, so he is VERY precious to me. This last year with him in the war was horrible. He is in the US again, and will be out of the Navy before his ship goes back. When he gets out in November, he is going to live with us while he goes to community college. Your daughter is a riot! Pirate was a heck of a lot easier to raise than I was. Well, at least to hubby and I, since we are cut from the same cloth. However, his father (my ex), didn't think so. Father is career military from a career military family. I am from a family of musicians, artists and writers. Both hubby and I are old hippies! I don't know what I was thinking when I married his father LOL!

As long as no one tries to put green die in my beer, I'll be happy!
St Pat's day is my younger brother's "unbirthday. He is a Lummi Indian that my family adopted on St. Pat's 43 years ago. His name is funny because it in no way reflects his heritage. He is Daniel Patrick with a very German last name! LOL! My parents had just been approved to adopt when they called and said they had a little boy being released from the hospital after being abused by his foster parents. They said "of course" and picked him up. They stopped at stores on the way home and had to buy everything he needed including clothes. I remember at as one of my happiest days.

Savannah, I noticed you said you are a nurse coordinator. What area of the hospital do you work in? My curiosity has been awakened since you said you had to deal with suicidal people.

brede, i am coordinating the entire hospital after hours ( well, 2pm till 10.30pm). Since it is a regional country hospital we have 6 different areas all under one roof, being surgical, medical, maternity, mental health, pediatrics and of course ED.
our intake is from a territory that extends up to 200km in different directions. Makes for interesting work, i love it just seems to be a "run" of things, and yesterday sadly it was those attempted suicides. the month before we thought something must have been in the water LOL, huge number of pancreatitis . somewhat interesting how things come in batches.

In mental health things also came in batches. We actually had more suicidal kids when there weren't any holidays. Completely opposite of conventional wisdom.
Sounds like you have an interesting job. I'm jealous!!! I loved working and it has been hard to accept that I won't be able to again.

Well...........
((((((( Brede )))))))))))))
I know you will miss working but what about doing crafts? Or chatting online? Just a thought. Something to occupy your hands and time. Or you could maybe call someone or travel to visit. I am not sure of any limitations you may have but its an idea. I hope you are doing fine and have a great day!

Can anyone help me? I recall seeing a post not long ago by someone asking for ideas on decorating for a wedding they were going to be in. Well, now we are planning one that is happening in 5 months! I wanted to share the ideas I saw there but now I can't remeber which board it was posted on. Can anyone help me?
