What-Not Wreath
---------------
One StyroFoam Circle aka Wreath
Leftovers of crafts for example:
Bits of Lace, ribbons, flowers, yarn, beads, paints, feathers
and what not you may have left over from previous crafts
Glue like that found in a bottle/can
Or use a glue gun.
Decorate your wreath by placing your left over crafts before
using your glue........
Then using your glue, add your decorative pieces to the Styrofoam Circle
Now if you rather you could add material or crepe paper or what not
first so your bits of left over crafts have a back ground.
That is the What-Not Craft inspired by Sunnieface

Saint Patrick's Cauldron
------------------------
Material Needed for Saint Patrick's Cauldron
One balloon
Starch
Strips of newspapers
Pieces of black crepe paper cut in 1 by 1 inch pieces
One pencil
Paste
Some gold coins aka candy money
One black wire
One green paper shamrock

Take your balloon and blow it up then tie it off.
Then dipping the strips of newspapers into the liquid starch
start paper machie' your balloon. Don't cover all of it for it
needs a hole at the top for the gold coins aka candy money. Let it
dry.
Then take your black wire add it on for a handle for your cauldron.
Then using the eraser end of your pencil take a piece of the black
crepe paper and wrap it around, then dip the tip into the paste and
place it onto your paper machie'd balloon; cover til the paper machie'
isnt visible. Let it dry
Gently placing your gold coins into your cauldron
On the outside of your cauldron glue your shamrock!
Ta da!

This craft is for April 24, 2003 Craft Chat.

Depending on how many of these you are going to make is how much of the craft materials you will need. I am going to write it up for one. This idea comes from a gift that I received from a roomie.

Angelic Clay Pot
------------------
Materials
==========

1 small clay pot (the smallest there is for crafters)

2 inches of white eyelet ribbon
1/2 inch of green pipe cleaner

One wooden ball w/face
(or you can put one on)

Small watering pot and flower
(this is for the hands)

One popsicle stick

You will need hot glue gun, glue sticks, and scissors.

Invert your clay pot to where the top is now your base.
Hot glue your wooden ball w/face on it. Make sure your face is the right way! LOL

Take your ribbon and fold it where the ends are in the middle and cant be seen.

Pinch the ribbon in the middle and using your popsicle stick to press your ribbon on, hot glue it to your clay pot on the back of it. This will be the wings of your angel.

Next, taking your scissors cut your pipe cleaner in half. The one half is for your halo of your Angel, hot glue it to the head like a wreath of laurels.

Then take the left over piece of your green pipe cleaner, using your scissors cut in half again. These are for the arms. Making sure to use your popsicle stick (so you dont get burned) glue on your arms to the side.

Then glue your small water pot to one end of the arm and the same with your flower to the other end of the arm.

Viola! You have a Gardening Angel.

Planter's Waterfall
---------------------
Materials
=========
One large clay pot 10 inch
One medium clay pot six inch
One small clay pot four inch

Depending on how many will fit several small one inch clay pots

One bag of dirt/soil

Several different flowering plants or just a couple of different seeds.

One bag of gravel like for an aquarium.

Three rocks to lay over the holes in the base of your clay pots. So water can drain but not the gravel and soil.

Spread your gravel over the rock in the base of your three large clay pots. Then do so again with soil but only fill the pots halfway with soil.

Sitting one pot inside another, stack your pots. Now either place your flowering plants around the base of the clay pot sitting in the larger one or plant your seeds around it. Then cover with more soil if needed.

If using seeds make sure to water generously. If using flowering plants do so carefully.
Then do the same with your last one inch clay pots in the top of your Planter's waterfall.

You may wish to put in a dowel in the holes of your clay pots to keep them aligned or rooted. Make sure to check the different soil beds to keep them moist.Ta da!

You will have a Planter's Waterfall!

You can also paint the outside of your clay pots to add a more artistic flair. Have a great day!

((((((WillowWOW)))))) I love the planter fountian idea! It would be beautiful at xmas time made with berries and poinsettias and some small branches off the tree!

If you go to http://www.google.com and search on "how to make paper flowers" there are a number of sites. As I'm not sure what kind you wanted to make, it would probably be best if you checked out the sites yourself, but there are a bunch of them!

(((((((( Liamfan Self ))))))))))) Oh yes I do have some quick paper flower crafts and techniques to making them with different things. i.e. Tissue or crepe paper
The quickest one I know of is fan folding the paper tie a chenille or pipe cleaner to the one end. Trim the other end either before or after opening your flower. Plus use many different colors and layers, This makes a nice sized flower. Sorry for not getting back to you sooner Self!

Now I do hope all of you will join in Craft chat for some unique crafts! I will have a special skirt that a friend from Wal-mart shared with me! Thanks Lisa!

I am finishing a quilt (my first) and am living in a town that doesn't have any classes in it... I couldn't quite figure out how to sew the "edging" so I rolled it and pinned it and am sewing it by hand. But my question here is when you are quilting by hand...are you supposed to go through both the top and the back? or just the top? I've looked in my book, and in several magazines and they aren't very specific on this. They kinda assume you just know....sigh. I would rather quilt it with my sewing machine, but the quilt is queen sized and too big for the machine when you get to the middle. Anyone have any suggestions??
