((((Moonie))))) (((((Liam))))) A Grandma!! Boy? Girl? I want details!! I tried to e-mail, but it says I can't. So I'll fill you in a bit here. Let's see. Cory's 16 now and she has her permit!! There's a law in Illinois that states she has to log 25 hours of drive time with me or her dad, so we're not rushing it. <g> She passed me up in the height catagory. (Who doesn't?) Only an inch, but, Boy, do I hear about it! LOL She's going to be a junior and she still loves High School. She's been inducted into the French Honor Society. She's gotten straight A's in French since Freshman year. She also won an Award for Outstanding Fine Arts Student. They usually give that one to a senior. We're looking into colleges. <sigh> I don't want to think about that, but she's anxious. She's interested in Forensic Science. I thought her interest would waiver, but she's held firm for about 3 years now. Good news is, Benedictine College (about 10 miles from here) is one of 2 schools in Illinois offering courses in that field.
There's no boyfriend yet, but that doesn't stop her from going to all the dances. She has a dear friend who happens to be a boy. In fact he's here so often we're thinking of adopting. May as well get the tax deduction. LOL

I'll try to drop in later. My garden needs tending and I like to get out there early.

{{{{{Cory}}}}} Sounds like she's doing wonderfully! College. YIKES! Driving!?

I thought she was, like, 12. ;-)

I guess time DOESN'T stand still after all, huh.

OMG....everything that Liam just said ((((ching)))). It doesn't surprise me in the least that she is doing so well. She's always been a very impressive kid!

SHE'S TALLER THAN YOU? WOW!

Outstanding Fine Arts Student......I love that! (((Cory))), I still have your handmade ornament!

Funny enough, my boys are all here at the cabin this weekend. My youngest is getting married in July. It's his bachelor party weekend. YEEHAW!

He works as a free lance stage hand in NYC now and does fun things like MTV Video Music Awards, Dan Rather's News, building sets for CBS, and most recently, he helped move new furniture into Harrison Ford's penthouse up there. He's having fun and his future wife is a 2nd grade teacher. They live in Jersey.

Middle son and his girl friend live in Minneapolis and he is a furniture maker and finish carpenter and we are happy to have our "Wilderness Boy" back from the wilds of Montana and in a real house. He's still quite the artist!

Oldest son and wife and THE GRANDSON (almost 7 mos.) live in NC. He's a stock broker and she's a travel agent and Jacob is just plain FANTASTIC!

So, they are all here under my roof for the weekend. It's wonderfully chaotic and when I need a little peace and alonetime, I whisk smiling Jacob up to my room and we share little talks and giggles. He's a very happy baby and, of course, the center of attention with all of us.

Sorry about the email. I'll check my prefs.

BTW, Liam's young son is growing by leaps and bounds too. He's still the most amazing and loveable kid. I'm sure you remember!

This is probably my only computer break until next week. THRONGS of friends and relatives begin to arrive this evening!

I better go cook.

HAHAHAHAHA

((((Moonie)))) Hiya ((((Liam)))))) (I'm sure you'll be dropping in.)

Sorry it took me a while to respond. I was trying to get my house in order before our vacation. We went on a world wind tour of the West Coast. Vegas, Grand Canyon, L.A., San Francisco. Whew!

We're back now and I can't believe school is right around the corner. What happened to my summer? Cory saw the Back to School display at the store and was giddy with delight! She can't wait.

I'm hoping I'll have a job. The food service company I've worked for for the past 3 years lost the bid for our school district. The new company says they will hire all who are interested, but I can't get them to say whether we will have the same positions. I guess I'll have to wait and see.

It sounds like your family is doing wonderfully! It must be nice when you all get together.

Take care and I'll try to stop in again before things get crazy with school and work again.

thanks (((Pal))).

You know the nice thing about having 4 surgeries in a years time, is that it's like a reunion in the pre-op! I had 6 nurses around my bed at one time.

OMG pharmgal! I was thinking of you two the other day and wondering how things were going with all of you. I'll never forget my old "RL roomies". Thanks for stopping in here.

Yeah! Single men early to mid thirties (kids okay) and able to put up with a creative spirit that doesn't listen well.

Love strawberries! Thanks Arista! Do you really grow them yourself?

Gotcha Scribble! I gotta tell you though, my nurses were all female, my surgeon is a female, I think my anesthesiologist was a male, but he put me to sleep.
