Derek Hough - Dancing with the Stars

I want to share with you my admiration for a very special dancer and entertainer, Derek Hough. He is one of the resident pro dancers on the US show Dancing with the Stars and those of you in the UK may have seen him recently on Red or Black where he danced the Argentine tango with Peta Murgatroyd.

I think he is an amazing talent, very handsome and sexy and an all around great guy. Any of you who are unfamilar with his work should just type his name into Youtube and sample any one of many videos from the show and elsewhere.

Although American by birth he spent ten years of his life from age 11 in London where he was taking dance instruction from the Ballas' and where he completed a course of study at Italia Conti Academy of Performing Arts. He competed in Latin and ballroom dance all over Europe and won numerous competitions.

He starred in the West End production of Footloose in 2006 and in other local productions. He returned to the US in 2007 and soon after was tapped for Dancing with the Stars where he has take a record three celebrities to the win of the Mirror Ball Trophy.

He is definitely someone to watch and those of you on this board who are in the US can see him in the new season of Dancing with the Stars which starts September 24 th on the ABC television network. He will be partnering Shawn Johnson Olympic gold medalist gymnast in an all star competition. Hope you will all watch and vote for Derek and Shawn.
