You know what gets to me? How they don't give out supply lists until school starts. When I was in school they handed those out at orientation, which gave you plenty of time to get to the stores. Now they give them out so late you have to go all over the place to find some of the stuff.

ooh..MissChaos..... have you checked your school district's website? Ours not only posts them there, but at the beginning of august, they send them to the stores in our area so that you can grab one while you are shopping too! If they don't, get involved in your local PTA (PTO) whichever you have...and ask them help with that!!

Ever notice how, especially in elementary school, that there's always 20 minutes of complaining and crying for every 5 minutes of homework?

It goes with the territory rjs.

It's like anything you ask them to do. If they wouldn't grumble & whine so much they would save themselves time.

However isn't that part of being a kid. They learn to drive early.. drive you crazy... drive you up a wall... drive to the point that you'll say forget I'll do it. ( that's exactly what they wanted to hear). See there is a method to the madness, a madness to the method.

The college kids come back this week! We're soooo over joyed!

If you've never lived in a college town, you'll never understand the joy that comes with newly released freshmen.

Of course you know I'm being facitious don't you? <g>

When my daughter was first married they lived in a college town in PA. Oh joy! Part of the campus was on their street. Great for the party hardy group. eek!

Well...my son graduated by the skin of his teeth in June. My daughter starts High School the Wednesday after labor day so I guess we are still old fashioned out here in Washington state.

(Little slow in posting!) Here on Maui the kids go to school year around. They get two weeks off four times a year. As a kid, I would have hated that! We spent early June until Labor Day at the cottage, getting as brown as the berry Melynn mentioned<g>, I however burn blistered and peeled for the first two months. There are alot of kids in my neighborhood but I seldom see them outside. You'd think they would at least be on the beach here! Occassionally see a skateborder drift down the street.

LOL!! we were almost on that year-round track here in Northern Colorado Dorothy, but thankfully, we parents voted that baby down right away. each school would have been on a different track . ... so if you had a kid in high school and one in middle school - they would have had different weeks off! YIKES! bad bad bad! especially if you are a parent with elementary school kids who would need daycare!

So, I'm quite happy with our schedule.
