Ok all of you owned by cats... ever had your cat do this?? Our oldest cat Milo will not touch any kitty litter.. now he will use the box but he pirches himself on rim of box..lol..it is entertaining watching him try to balance himself as he goes but there has to be something I can do. I have tried every kind of litter that there is, cedar, clay, clumping, crystals. He also will not cover it up after he is done. He does this faux scratching around edge of box. Any suggestions or do I just have a WAY nuerotic cat? He is also the only cat I have ever seen who is completely petrified of the outdoors. So letting him go outside is not an option either.

Not sure about the balancing act, but my oldest cat does the faux scratching thing. Is more annoying than actual scratching. I do however have a male cat that goes into heat just like his mother. Not sure what to think about that. lol

<--that's Brandi. She's shy. I don't think she's an unusual pet, but we don't have a bunny discussion so I figured I'd put her here <g>

I can't even imagine a hairless guinea pig. LOL!

Did anybody else see that little CNN blip about the featherless chickens? The crossed a regular chicken with some featherless something and ended up with a chicken that doesn't have to be plucked. It was the weirdest looking chicken....

Scooby, my cat won't touch the litter either. I've had her for 12 years and I just figure as long as she doesn't scratch the walls or miss the box, I don't care how she goes <g>

I've heard of people training their cats to use the human toilet. See if you can catch him when he starts to perch on the edge of the catbox and take him quick to the bathroom. Who knows, it might work.

PetSmart actually has a training kit for that. It's like one of those potty training toilet seats for little kids, and it holds cat litter in a pan in the center. You start with the cat litter there, then slowly phase it out, then eventually remove the pan all together. Through all that your cat is supposed to learn to tinkle in the potty.

I doubt it'd work for me though. Satteirra's too old, Bernard's too stubborn, and Sam's too SHORT.. ROFL!!

I have one of those LitterMaid self-scooping litter boxes. Someone will pry that litterbox from my cold, dead hands <g>

Mickey I used to work with a woman whose cat not only was trained to use the human toilet but she trained him to flush it too. She told me how she did it. She put kitty litter in a potty seat that fit on the toilet to train him to use the toilet and eventually removed it. She hung a feather from the flush handle to teach it to flush. It can be done and think, no more litter pans!

I have a dog that not too many people have. My dog is a rat terrier. He also has an unusual habit to go with his name. When people enter the house he gets so excited he will pull back his top gums. His teeth are shown as the ugliest smile ever.
