Menstrual cramps

Two nights ago I got terrible cramps. Finally, I started drinking a lot of water and the cramps went away. But then I had to get up to pee all the time! Is there an over-the-counter remedy that actually works? I've tried Advil, Midol, and Pamprin, but my cramps seem to still be there. Please help me out!

I'm due for my period in a few days and I know that my cramps will be there. Should I just accept the pain or is there something out there that really works?

Yes dont eat any dark greens. This makes your flow heavier. Told to me by my instructor for phlebotomy class. Drink the water. Keep hydrated. Watch what you eat sometimes that does cause more than helps on certain foods. Hugs

Thanks, Wolfie. I am on my period now and avoiding dark greens. I also was told to take in less carbs and sugar. I do get some heavy flow days, but I'm used to dealing with that. It's the cramps . . .

Have you seen your OB/Gyn about this? Maybe to do an ultrasound just in case. Just a thought Hugs

I talked to my OB/gyn a couple of years ago and after my exam she said that I was fine, but some women experience worse cramps than others. Her advice to me was eat more fresh fruit and veggies, take in more fiber, drink water, exercise, and take Ibufrofen. I do all that, so I guess I'm just one of those women that get bad cramps. Well, at least my period is winding down today!

My cramps weren't as bad this month. That's a good thing!

I always take a pill with ibuprofenum in it. And you should take the pill immidiately when the cramps start otherwise it wonīt work. Also, you should apply warm compress on your stomach....Iīm not sure whatīs it called in english....anyway there is a thing and you sip warm water in it and apply to your stomach...itīs great!
