Hair and Make up Tips

I didn't see anything of this sort but I thought it would be neat to share some tips with each other on how we do our hair/makeup. This could also be a great place to ask for advice on the two. =]

I'm no help, either. The total amount of my makeup (and I doubt it counts) is painting my toenails. I don't even do lipstick.

Sorry.

I never was a fan of lipstick. It's probably because I've never worn it, so when I do try some on I feel like a clown. I would like to wear some red lips. Like Gwen Stefani or Rihanna. I think that is so striking.

My everyday look normally consists of browns or purples for eyeshadow. Black liner on top and bottom lids and Black Mascara. Foundation, powder, and a little blush. Oh yeah, lip gloss. For hair it just depends. If I have time I'll straighten it and wear it down, but most of the time it's pulled back with only my bangs and few pieces of hair left out.

The reason I suggested this thread is because a lot of women feel like they are stuck in a rut when it comes to doing their makeup or hair. My mind is boggled when it comes to lips. I'd love to try some lip liner and lipstick sometime.

nordstroms make-up counter is a great place to get tips on new things.. I took my DD there to teach her how to do her eyeliner and mascara in the "hip" new ways... they were awesome with her.

I try to wear makeup at least two times a year. Gotta stay in practice ya know.

The thing I have a problem with is my hair, it is long and straight. Last time I had my hair cut.... it was very short, it is now half way down my back.

I usually wear a pony tail and asked hubby to help me. He has big fingers so could only get scruffy around twice and the pony tail fell out. I have arthritis in right shoulder so here is a hint to those who have the same problem.

I can brush my hair just fine, that's cause I have two hands lololol The pony tail... I gather my hair the best I can, then brace right arm on counter. Right hand holds the hair and left hand does the scruffy. Not always the greatest, but so far the horses haven't laughed at me

That sounds like it's way more difficult that it should be and I'm sorry to hear that. Might I suggest that you get a shorter hairstyle because it would be less maintenance? Now a days the bob is coming back into style, either angled or straight. If you aren't up for jumping to short hair you can try a headband to keep your hair out of your face, or a big jaw clip works well- just twist your hair with your left hand hand, hold it up above your head then with you right hand clamp it with jaw clip right below the round of your head. Your husband seems very helpful so maybe he could braid your hair for you sometime. Those are just some options. Hopefully they can help you out, hon.

((((((( KraftyKid))))))) You do as best as you can with what you have. Which goes to say others cant even do that. Good ideas MissChaos.
Have a great day!

Only info I have knowledge is of thick long coarse hair.
