Hi! I,m back
I have just realised, thanks to a birthday message, that I am a member of this site. Must familiarise myself with what goes on here and who is involved. That should keep me busy for a while thankfully. In crutches with a brace on my leg for god knows how many weeks so, yeah, here for a rummage.

OK peeps, just a wee bit info to bring you up to speed with what I've been doing.
Moved back to Scotland after 15 years in mainland Europe working on various volunteer projects. Was teaching English and Spanish and working periodically in a friends restaurant to keep the wolves from the door. all good fun I have to say. but unfortunately reality kicks in! my husband decided he wanted to return to Scotland so here we are. I forgot how much I hate British weather, politics and people's general inability to see the brighter side of life for want of a less polite way to say what I really think. Anyway enough of me ( and my f***ed knee in a brace for god knows how long) and let me get to know you fine people! Oh by the way you should see the new sweater I've just finished

Well I have lived in 4 states here in the USA. Born and raised in Central New York. Then moved to Ohio for 4 months then back to NY for several years til we moved to Southern Florida for 5 years then back to Ny til 2 years ago we
when the man I lived with for just shy of 10 years decided when he turned 50 he needed to go chaising a 30 something nurse her worked with. So, I moved to Pennsilvana to be near my son and his children. Until a month ago my older girls and I had a place of our own. My health isn't so hot so my youngest daughter and I moved into my sons place. For now Apollo,PA is home.

I love the fact that you as a family have rallied together to ensure that you are all homed and safe. Life throws us ups and downs but the secret for me is deciding what is worth fighting for and what just needs thrown on the heap that is "not worth giving a shit about or losing any sleep over". Sorry to here about your health, especially since I have been droning on about a fucked knee when I am in otherwise excellent health. Good to hear (read) from you anyway. You probably know the other women who contribute so give them a kick up the backside to get talking!

Hi, crazy momma -Glad your family stepped up to the plate. You've always been there for them. It shows they care about you. That makes me happy for all of you. Take care of your health. Do what you need to do to keep as well as possible.
etherea--- Sorry about your knee. Are you having surgery or shots to help it out. I'm not on here as much as I was before... Life has stepped up to the plate demanding attention more. Drop in when I can. crazy momma & I go back a lot of years as with a lot who used to come in... Things happen, lives change, & we go on.. That's the way it works. I will try to pop in more often. (((((( Hugs ))))))))) because crazymomma makes the best cookies, and I give the best hugs.... They both help people feel better. Have a great day.

Thanks! Surgery 3 weeks ago, brace to be worn for anything between 6 and 12 weeks. Stir crazy doesn't even come close! I know it's awful but sometimes I wish that the surgery had made me feel a bit worse and I wouldn't feel quite so "ready to rock"! I have plans plus my sanity dictates that I get back to work. My husband and dog aren't quite cutting it in the " lets be gregarious" stakes! Maybe I should go and clear out all that paperwork that is no longer important and I have been thinking about disposing of for at least a year!
Enjoy your day people

Oh marvellous! The met office decided that last night and this morning were the warmest on record for this particular day. Failed to inform us that it would be raining though.

Hey, etherea, glad to see you back here, and sorry to hear about your knee...Things have been slow here online for a while, but there are a few of us who keep hoping to see it come back to life.
Crazymama, I'm so glad your family stepped up after everything happened. Hey, Irish! |

Morning sisters! Hope all is well with you all. Sitting here passing time until my daughter decides to show up. Texted me yesterday about going to the library this morning. Clearly she needs my library pass to use the printer there. Morning is such a long time for those who arise between 5 and 6 am. Tried phoning: switched off. How I love when I want my children to do something ( which is few and far between by the way) it is when it is convenient for them, likewise when they want me to do something for them. there's something wrong there Of course I'm off work so what else am I doing You have to laugh at their audacity though!

Evening, sad day for me. One of my girls moved back to New York. She was living in a bad place. I am not happy were she is but she is with family and went with my blessing. Hope all is well in your corner of the world.

Children have to make their own way in life and whether we like their choices or not, we have to respect that they are adults and capable of making their own .
Enough of the serious stuff, let's all have a good day. Let's sing, dance and celebrate the fact that we are here, we are alive and we CAN do whatever we want! etc. Enjoy your day!

You are right! She is almost 23 and I have taught her all I can. I support what she is doing but I wish she was living elsewhere.

Yeah but it's ultimately her choice and she will learn a hard lesson if it all goes south!
