Angry Frustrations

Here is where you can let out your frustrations. Perhaps another will have info to help or assist you.
This is mine....
Did you ever get where you are losing the weight and hit a plateau? Well it seems that I am forever stuck on one. I yo yo with my weight fluxuating between 160 to 180. Yet I cant seem to break the barrier of 160. I am so darn tired of not being able to achieve this. Hence I am seriously thinking of some major upheavals. Yet must be careful due to the diabetes that I was diagnosed after losing sixty pounds and keeping it off for a few years. Ever since being diagnosed I cant keep it off nor lose past the 160 mark! Ugh! No doctors and etc are able to assist me on this thus far.

I can sooo relate! I keep bouncing back and forth, weight-wise. For me, it's also a 20-pound span...I know that a lot of my not being able to break the plateau (except in the wrong direction) has to do with a lot of stress in my life. (I know you can relate, Wolf_Angel.) Maybe we could start a stress-related-weight-problems anonymous?

lol Wolf_Angel. Ask my kids. I have 3 speeds. Slower, slow and stop. Fast walks just don't happen for me!

I know the plateau and I feel you pain. It seem unpassable, but that's the point where you have to be happy with yourself.

Um no I wont take it! I will take a new plan that I will devise for myself like before. Now here is something that I wrote up. So I can take and keep accountability for myself.

So many insights things none of my doctors have ever told me let alone clue me in. So in due process, I started taking stock of what I was actually doing to have a better accounting of it all. One, was not checking my BG often or enough. Two, not watching on the various "snacks" I was eating. Three, not realizing how little or less of activity or exercise I was getting. Right now money is a major factor on going to the gym. So I am going to revise a few things. All three above mainly. Then slowly and surely work towards a low carb. When someone mentions terms like "Low carb Diet" I had an idea of it. Yet was mainly vague. I am now slowly learning the meaning of them and how they refer to myself. How I can improve by implementing these to my life. So perhaps I was redundant to a point. Yet I feel that our doctors we deal with should take accountability as well. More so the CDE aka Certified Diabetic Educator. My nutritionist aka Endo is busy with a new baby. So I am hoping that in due time I will have a better status report to give her and others as well. The only person now I have or plan on having accountability from is myself. Just like before, I did it alone with no doctors, nutritionists, and trainers. Yet thanks to the group here, I know I have others I can discuss these things. Where I may not get an absolute answer but I can get a better understanding of things. So thank you Diane and all of you. Have a great day!

Hey Wolf_Angel/ D0 some investigation on the web. Just type in Diabetis / or Weight Loss it will list places to check things out. Some of these places will be top notch clinics and will have info to help.
Check them out, then the next time you go to your drs go armed with questions that you have written down. Push for the answers write the ans near the questions. That should help you out.
As much as the dr should listen to you, you need to listen & hear what they are saying to do in these situations. Good luck on this.
? Have they been able to get your diabetis under control? Watching your sugar intake will help.
Also check out LOW CARB foods on the internet. That should give you some much needed insight into what you should be eating/ drinking/
Good luck also good luck with getting into college. wishing you the best.

Thank you IRISH! Hugs I start college September 12. I have been doing what you said for over three years now. All I have left to lose is 40 pounds mainly in the abdominals aka visceral fat. Which was gained during toxemia pregancies. Ugh! Yet love my children. So far not much help. But what else to be expected eh? I am looking into the Low carb thing as of now. Yet that is on hold while I obtain info for my oldest sister who was just diagnosed with Type 2 diabetes. She is in Greensboro North Carolina on limited funds and no internet. Ugh for her. Have a great day!

LOL Jayni no worries...the man whoever is lucky enough to find the diamond in the rough will be blessed having you. If not then its his loss! Hugs

As for me, right now just trying to eat healthier but now I have a cold on top of the sinusitis! Ugh! But I am on antibiotics and thus being careful of what I eat. I know when the cold/sinusitis is going away cause I get my appetite back. That started yesterday! Class was fun last night. Although I almost didnt make it home car has been acting up. Hope to figure it out later on today, but its raining! Ugh! Yet a girl in the class, reminds me of the typical blonde blond. Meaning she acts like it although I am sure she is smart well intentioned and a nice person. Yet forgets the rules regarding cell phones in class. Comes late no thanks to her car breaking down (Ugh I can feel her pain on that) Unprepared for class i.e. no paper to take notes when we all were informed at last class time by the other instructor to be ready. I did give her paper though. She seems not really ready to buckle down to the class whereas the rest of us are! Oh well. I hope she improves. Yet for now not much else going on. Hugs

Well said (about the diamond in the rough) Wolf angel! OH man! I absolutely hate sinusits. Last winter i had started a new job downtown and had to take the subway, and ended up getting the flu since we were all packed like sardines... It later developed into a sinus infection. So I can feel your pain. Good to hear you are feeling better though. Aahh the days of school....I remember I was like that girl back in first year uni...needless to say getting my marks for the first round of exams scared me right out of it. I can't wait to go bck to school..hoping to do a post-grad in Jan (providing i get into the program). What are you taking in class? For the time being I am just working...life is good

Hugs
