Getting Older and Not Sleeping

In the last few years my sleep patterns have changed. I'm needing less sleep (which science even says as you get Older you sleep less) but I can't stand the nites like this:

Go to sleep at Midnight Wake up at 2:30am and now it 10 minutes to 6am and I'm still awake....

I've noticed this has gotten worse since my open heart surgery. At least twice a month I have nites like this :-(

I'll be dragging my tail today LOL

Hey, Tiffin, just spotted this. Hope your sleep patterns are getting better. I know my sleep has been really crappy for the past 2 years (since friend-hubby died). I'm sure it's stress, even residual stuff.

But anyway, hope you're doing better.

I don't know what it is like to sleep all night.. Even before I had Joshua I was up half the night. I sleep for an hour or so and back up for an hour or so. Then I am so sleepy during the day. The body aches are setting in now. LOL poor hubby has to rub my back and legs all the time.. Isn't that what he is for?

Yes, it is what' he's for...giggle! (didjya really think i'd disagree???) GIGGLE!!!

I have resorted to ambien twice this week, and I'm thinking it may be another one of those nights. Once I fall asleep, I can stay asleep, but my brain won't shut off these nights... too many stresses going through them all the time...trying to figure out what will go where, and how long peter and paul can wait!

love ya ladies!

I can relate...the most sleep I ever get is five interrupted hours. I've grown accustomed to it. I do think in my sporadic slumber I must sleep soundly during intervals.

Perhaps writing these things down in a journal or a diary. This way you can have it down on paper thus helping you find a solution with whatever you may need solving and etc. Hope this helps.
Have a great day!

Had a rough night last night, sleep-wise. Up every hour-and-a-half. Ugh...

(((((( Rjfeminist ))))))) (((((( Crazymomma ))))))) So sorry to hear that ya'll are having a rough time on the sleep. Understandable since your Mom passed away a year ago Crazymomma! Grab some chamoille (sp?) tea and a journal to help with your thoughts and etc. Hope this helps. Hugs

Hello ladies...

I've had trouble sleeping for years, at first I use to think it was typical for someone of my age to stay up all hours of the night. I recently learned that my unhealthy sleeping habits was caused by Hyperthyroidism (Thyroids) which I had completely removed because my Dr discovered a tumor and thought it would be best if I had a total Thyroidectomy that was done back in Oct. of 2010. Now at the age of 30, I'm learning how to adjust to my new sleeping patterns and sleep thru the night.

I hope you're able to rest assuredly now after consulting with your Dr.

It's a horrible thing when you cannot sleep properly throught the night, especially when you have obligations the next day!
