How to Chat!

--> How to Connect using mIRC (PC) or Ircle (Mac)

If you're using mIRC version 5.9 or earlier, choose ICQNet off the connection list. For version 6.0 or later choose IrCQ-Net off the connection list. If neither of those options appear on your list, you will need to add a new connection to ICQNet using the server information above.

If you're using Ircle, complete the following steps:

Open Connections Window.
Select Nickname.
Click Edit.
Click Select.
Click Add.
Enter Server irc.icq.com, port 6667, network ICQ.
Click OK, Select, OK

For any other chat software, enter the server information below:

Server Name: IrCQ-Net
Server Address: irc.icq.com
Port(s): 6665-6669

Once you've got the chat program installed, connect and type /join #WomensSpace. If you need additional help, post here and we'll be happy to help you out!

mIRC is a chat program for PC's. If you're using a PC, you'll have to download it from http://www.mirc.co.uk and install it on your computer.

If you're using a mac, you'll have to download and install Ircle instead, at http://www.ircle.com

Ok, I've been working on the java chat situation

If you look across the navigation bar at the top of the screen, there's a new chat link there, right between the FAQ and the Calendar. When you click it, it'll fling you into #WomensSpace!

There's one little oddity I haven't quite figured out. For some reason, NickServ and ChanServ are thrown into a tizzy by the thing and they both start speaking in Spanish. I have no idea why, but I'll try to fix it. LOL! Everything else seems to be working fine, as far as I can tell, just that little bit of weirdness.

maybe chanserv and NickServ are testing it out .

Hi Irisheyes - I downloaded mirc here at work - must I register and pay? If so, I shall have to delete it and not chat, due to the fact this is a company owned computer.

ok I have the mirc on my puter, but when I hit chat at top of page my IE closes. I am not sure how to do this.

You don't have to register and pay. I've been using Mirc for 100 days now and it just keeps asking me to register, but you don't have to. Just have to wait for the button to become available to click on. Happy Chatting!

Hi, I can see and connect to IrCQ-Net but something popped up and I don't know which to select. I couldn't see the lesbianspace or the #womenspace

OHHHHH K I go on vacation and come back, and can't enter chat.....hmmmmm let me know what I can do or maybe you can just do it......
