Hi,

I am an administrative assistant/manager. I started a new job three weeks ago. So far, I love it.

I worked in an office once, and loved the actual work. It was the cattiness I could not stand. Hopefully you don't have any of that where you work, but if it starts, take my advice. Wear earplugs to work, and when in doubt, smile and nod.

ohhh there is always cattiness... it's "Woman's Nature"...

I lost my job on Friday due to a "restructuring of the company"...I was an Admin Asst./everything girl.

I love being an everything girl...it keeps ya on your toes. I'm off looking for a job today...my first day of the search...I'd like to find something very close to my little town so I don't have to ride the bus every day...but hey..I'll take whatever at this point.

Anywhoo...being an admin asst. is a good job if you can multi-task (what woman can't?) and can stand the cattiness of the work place.

Thanks Allie & Liam!!!! I called unemployment and thanks to the OT I put in last winter/spring, my benefits are almost what my take home pay was!!! WHEW!

and...I'm getting to look for something I really want to do instead of looking for something immediately...so that's good too.

Sorry to hear about your job loss PBS, but you are taking the right attitude about it. It is much more important to find a job you like, then just find a job that will do. Good luck!
