Here is my idea that is a family tradition
My mother started this when my father was in the military. We ask single people to join us for the holidays. Like Christmas Thanksgiving and etc. It makes it worthwhile to share with others food good times and wonderful memories. We dont ask for anything in return aka presents that is up to the person invited. We just ask them to show up. LOL So far this helps when single mothers children are with their other relatives and single guys (usually in the military) for a family celebration. It also cuts down on suicides during the holidays. Isn't that what the holidays should be about?

I think that's a beautiful tradition Tala. There's also a side benefit. My mom used to include "outsiders" so that the relatives would have to "behave."<g>

A friend told me this week that her kids' dentist is paying $1 a pound for leftover Halloween candy. The friend says she'd like to buy the candy on sale on Nov. 1 and make some cash.

I think that the most importnat thing to do when it comes to holidays is find the best places to get the party decorations and party supplies. I know that I have no ideas where to find these things. I only wish I did.
Hey, if anyone can help me feel free to. I can't even seem to get my sons birthday party planned out well. But if you can find a great place for the party supplies I think you are oging to have a great season. Parties suck if they do not look good. Sorry to be shallow but it is true! |

Oh wow!
((Mala))
My only thing I worry about a party is that everyone is comfortable and having a good time. Yet If I were decorating I would plan a theme i.e. New Year's which leads to many variations. Yet like I said simple and easy is best so the person hosting the party isnt overwhelmed. White plates and White cups with some markers makes fun. You can do designs or put your resolutions on them or make silly faces...whatever takes your fancy. Just my ideas on that Hope everything works out well with your son's birthday. I know my sons' like cars so many a theme around a race track table cloth with plates looking like cars and the cups like flags would be an idea. If you still need more help let me know. Have a great day!

Christmas!!!!
Jimminy Christmas! No, Have a few birthdays to get though first. (((((((((( PBS, Addie )))))))))))))), With kids you have to start early. Used to love the Lay a Ways that most stores had. PBS, With the cost of all the new gadgets getting a head start is a good idea. Good luck with it.
