Digital Cameras

Hello All,
Do you have a digital camera that you use for professional use auctions/or websights that you really like? Please tell me.

I have been searching for a great camera. I did not anticpate on how much work it would take. I tried consumer reports but they dont have alot of models listed Thanks all.

I highly recommend a Kodak DX3500.

You don't need some 4.2 megapixel super camera unless you're planning to do things like take insurance photographs of rare diamonds under a bright light.

They stopped making the DX 3500, but they still have em on eBay a lot for like 100 bucks.

These are a GREAT camera.

I also recommend getting a little miniature tripod...the ones that are about 4 inches high.

A company named Giottos (or Glottos) makes them.

Lastly, you might want to get an upgrade memory chip of 128 so that your camera can hold 250+ pictures at a time.

That way, you can carry it around and take hundreds of pictures!

It's a great little investment.

If you need a color printer to go along with it, check out the Lexmark Z53.

They sell those on eBay too super-cheap and they work wonders.

You could probably get the whole kit of those 3 things for $200 and your set!

And if you ever need extra ink just call up Lexmark...they're pretty liberal about giving away freebies or at least they were a while ago.

I have a Canon Powershot A80 and love it. If all you are doing is web work and sending Jpegs to the family, you don't need to get more than a 2mps. If you are planning to make acutal prints and want to have photos that can be "blown up" to an 8x10 and still have some resolution integrity, you might want to go to a 4 mp. They are a bit spendier, tho. It's the same old adage: you get what you pay for. There is a consumer mag out there that does do comparisons of, like, 40 cameras, but when is enough enough? I wanted the ability to control most aspects of my pictures in the camera (the same as I do with my 35mm). I like the SLR lcd screen tho it's a bit small. I also bought the underwater case for it so that I can take pix in the rain.

I've been pretty pleased. I've also used an Olympus 3mp. I liked it... very point and shoot and gave nice sharp images for the most part. A little problem when the background was too bright and never really found a way to avoid that, but otherwise, I liked it. It's great for web use and produces a fairly nice 5x7 print. I like being able to control my aperture which isn't all that great with the Olympus, but it just depends on what you want to do. See if some of your friends who have digitals will let you use it and print it out and handle the software.. that is what should drive your decision. If you're just running round town, you don't need a Cadillac.

I have a Canon Powershot S50, which is a 5 megapixel camera, and I love it, although I don't use half the features I know it has. This summer, I'll have to get out the manual.

i have a Sony Cybershot 3.2mp , which is awesome, userfriendly, great quality pics and a great price.
i did a search for it on the Australian Choice Magazine Website, it came up best for all my needs and was well worth the look.
i would imagine you have something similar for where you are, wouldn't you?

I have a Pentax Optio 550. It is great! It is also a 5 megapixel. I bought it after much research and the bonus was that it uses the same memory card as my PDA. I can't take the card out of the camera, slip it into the PDA and set it up as a slide show. I can also put the PDA in its computer cradle and easily download all the photos.

OMG The old hippie is turning high tech!!!!!
