Are you a 40+ woman suddenly on her own?

I?d like to connect with other women over 40+ who are in major life transitions.
I?ve been married for 23 years and I haven?t lived on my own for over 25 years.

I am now going to begin a whole new life. Although it?s late in the game, I feel as though I will finally have an opportunity to salvage my wretched life into something fulfilling and satisfying. I?ve been very unhappy for so long I don?t think I can go anywhere but up.

If any of you have or are experiencing anything like what I?m going through, I would very much like to connect.
Due to the nature of the way my life has turned out, I find myself extremely isolated. I don?t have any friends who can help me in any way. I truly am on my own and in a sense, I?ve been that way for a long time.

Please contact me if you?re so inclined. I?d love the opportunity to connect and get some small amount of support. Online friendship and support is better than no friends and no support.

Hi ((((((Belana))))))) I know what you are going thru. I am in a similar position right now. The best thing though is that I do have this website where I know many of the others thru posting and chats. So check out the message boards and perhaps a chat.

Hi Belana, usually the chat tab works. We have java chat as well as an IRC where you can chat as well. There is mIRC and Pirch. Check them out and download. If you get stuck please let me know, or any one of the fabulous Hostesses like NanaWOW and DanceWOW plus the sweet Ladies who know as well. I hope this helps.

I was just on the chat site. I’m assuming that our chartroom is WomansSpace? Please let me know if that’s right? I’m wondering because while I was there I didn’t see anyone at all. I clicked on some other channels and they were all pretty active. Please let me know if I’m hitting it or I’m off the mark?

I?m sorry I haven?t responded to you until now.
I have officially separated from my husband and am in the process of moving to a new city. I?ve been completely consumed by trying to find a place to live. I have nothing so I had to go out and buy absolutely everything! It?s been very consuming.
I am now trying to have a little downtime. I?d be happy to chat this evening or sometime tomorrow or whenever?s good for you?
I will also be more available now that I?ve gotten a lot of the preliminary moving stuff done. Currently I?m in the process of waiting for all my furniture to be ready to be moved into my new place so I can actually start living in it. After that I?ll have to attend to all of the little details of making my new place ?livable.?
Please don?t give up on me and give me another try. Truly, I?d love to chat and I could really use a new friend right now.

I don't know how many 'major life transitions' I have been through but it is quite a few and I am 60+ (rather than 40+) and I have one word for you Belana:

SISTERS !

EVERYBODY needs sisters, someone to talk to, someone to share with, someone to laugh with, to have fun with, and someone to cry with. Sisters are the difference between a cloudy day and sunshine!

At work, in your hobbies, among your neighbours, look for the women in your life that you like and reach out to them, even if just for a coffee. Not all women have the 'stuff' to make a good friends, but lots do if you give them a chance.

Isolation isn't a good way to live but it is up to you to change that.

Sorry - just noticed how old this thread is. OOPS! LOL!
