Feeling Old
Ok, I'm not that old (32), but I have been struggling lately with the idea of getting older. I always said that I wanted to age gracefully and not get a bunch of cosmetic procedures, but that was before I started to get a large crease right between my eyebrows... I'm also starting to notice laugh lines, and I have a couple of gray hairs. I'm a bit embarrassed to say I'm considering botox! Can anyone offer advice on coming to terms with aging and resisting the temptation to have cosmetic procedures.

wow...you must have ESP because I have been asking these very questions myself...and I am sooo much older, in number anyway (ask Jen). I want to be at a place where I can fully embrace aging (growth) without feeeling anxious every time I see a new "nook and cranny"!

For every line or crease you get, think about how or what made it. Laugh lines tells others of the many times you found something to laugh. Grey hairs tells of you experience thru the roughest times in your life. Depending on how you take care of yourself is how your skin and body reflect. Yet if you ignored yourself, look at the reasons why. Mine would be my children! You can count how many times you take a breath or how many times a moment took your breath away. Which is worth more? I say all of it for it shows you are strong, balanced and willing to worry about other things instead of your looks. This doesnt mean to not get yourself in balance. To take time out for yourself. Be it by the lotion you put on after a shower. Or working out or simply walking a longer distance from your car to the store doors. I dont regret the things that have made me the way I am. Just work on what I can, accept what wont change i.e. diabetes, and do the best with what I have or blessed with. Hope this helps as it was meant too. Hugs

Age is a wonderful thing. The more you age the better it is. You know I'm right when you consider the alternative.
Each of us has to do what is comfortable / best for us. Myself I think 32 is to young to think of botox. Take a look at some of your celebrities. To me they don't look natural. They've had to many treatments. So give yourself some time. Talk it over with your dr to see what is right for you. I did the coloring & the makeup only to find out the coloring caused my hair to start thinning out. .. So it's white / funny because my eyebrows are black. Yes, I'm more than a wee bit older.. whole lot bolder, & wiser than I used to be. <weg> What you need to do is build up your confidence so that you're comfortable being you. / Age - yes once a year Sex - Hopefully more than once a yr. Location- Right here where else am I. <G> Have a great day . Good luck in your decision.

Lady, let it go. Don't worry about it. Sister, Wolfie, and Irish are a little older than I am, but I consider them to be my "GIRLfriends". There's alot to be said about mind over matter. Sounds to me that those girls don't think about being old, and at 32, you shouldn't either.

First of all, you have to change your thinking that you are getting old. Think that you are very younger and keep your energy by doing some regular exercises and all.

Well IRISH Jennifer helenwlsn5 all have said it as well as I have. Its a mind over matter thing. I am happy for the age I am. Born in the late sixties I was. So Do I feel old...somedays due to the weather or being overly busy. Yet I make time for myself and thus get rejuvenated! Hugs

Well put all. I am embracing "me". The only thing I can expect of myself is to be the best I can be, whatever the age.
